Today, we celebrate a holy and hopeful milestone.

In August 2025, the Board of Los Altos Christian Church commissioned a small team to begin discerning a new mission and vision for our congregation.

Over the next seven months, the Mission and Vision Team met 12 times, spending more than 25 hours together in prayer, scripture reading, spiritual practices, honest conversation, and communal listening. Again and again, we returned to this shared conviction:

God is still moving among us.

After months of prayerful work, the Mission and Vision Team brought the proposed statements to the Board, where they were received with unanimous approval. From there, they were shared with the congregation for continued prayer, conversation, and feedback. The vision statement was thoughtfully revised in response to what we heard from the congregation.

And today, with joy and gratitude, the congregation voted unanimously to affirm the new direction God is leading us into.

So today, we celebrate. We give thanks. We say yes to God in this new season.

Our Mission:
“Our mission is to cultivate a garden of belonging so that all may experience God’s compassionate love.”

Our Vision:
“Our vision is rooted in experiencing God through relationships, spiritual practices, and service. We seek to nurture a life of faith beyond Sunday in ourselves and others to sow seeds of hope.”

May this mission take root among us. May this vision grow through us. May Los Altos Christian Church continue becoming a garden of belonging, grace, and compassionate love.
