Our very own Tsunma Sherab Khandro is studying in Nepal for the next few months and will take us on Virtual Zoom Pilgrimage to holy sites in the KathmanduValley!
Our first Zoom will be this Saturday
October 5th
7pm Mountain Time.
Dates/times for additional Pilgrimage Journeys are listed below, along with zoom info.
Twice a month, Tsunma will take the sangha on a small zoom pilgrimage to various holy places in and around the Kathmandu valley. Each journey will be unique, based on the location and weather conditions. At each location Tsunma will offer a spiritual history of the site, and lead us in a short, simple practice, either shamata, mantra recitation, or both. The goal is to allow as much of the sacred atmosphere, essence and "fragrance" of each location to be transmitted through the zoom pilgrimage.
Dates & Times All times are *Mountain Time*!

October 26:: 7pm
November 9:: 8pm

Locations we may visit: Pilgrimage locations are not attached to a date, as weather and other unforseen conditions in Nepal can alter the best laid plans.
* Boudanath Stupa - one of the most holy stupas in the world, containing the remains of the Bu.ddha Kashyapa, the buddha prior to Buddha Shakyamuni. Boudanath is the spiritual heart of Nepal, a profoundly powerful site of devotion and prayer in the center of Kathmandu.
* Swayambunath Stupa - a self-arisen stupa closely tied to Manjushri and Vajrayogini. It is the most ancient holy site in Kathmandu. There will be monkeys. Hopefully they won't eat the camera!
* Maratika Cave - A most holy place, where Guru Rinpoche and Mandarava, achieved immortal life through the practice of Amitayus.
* Pharping - Asura cave, where Padmasambhava and Yeshe Tsogyal accomplished Vajrakilaya! Very holy place, where you can see Guru Rinpoche's hand prints.
* Temel - Another holy place of Padmasambhava, where he meditated extensively in the local caves.
* Namobuddha - This is where the Buddha, in a previous lifetime as a prince, offered his body to a starving tigress so that she could feed herself and her starving cubs. The bones of the prince's body are preserved in a stupa there.
* Tergar Ösel Ling Monastery - Mingyur Rinpoche's monastery above Swayambu, where Tsunma is studying.
* Shechen Monastery - Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche's monastery in the heart of Kathmandu. We will visit the courtyard, and then meditate in Dilgo Khyentse's personal room.
*Various events and celebrations at Boudanath or the monasteries nearby.
Please join us on this exciting opportunity to experience sacred Buddhist sites in Nepal!
All are welcome!
