The Moon-Sighting Committee of the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars of North America announces that Thursday, July 16th, 2026, will be the first day of Safar, 1448 A.H. for the entire region of North America.

Al Zahra Center sends the deepest condolences to the Imam of our time (ajtf) and to the whole community on the upcoming sorrows of the month of Safar, which includes:
Arbaeen of Imam Hussain (as), the rihlah of Prophet Muhammad (saw), and the martyrdom anniversaries of Imam Hasan (as) and Imam ar-Rida (as).

May Allah (swt) reward us all in our mourning this month, inshallah.

One of the most powerful cries that emerged from the plains of Karbalã' was the call of Imam Husayn ('a):
هَلَ مِنْ نَاصِرٍ يَنْصُرُنِي
"Is there any helper who will help me?"

With the arrival of Muharram al-Harām 1448 AH, Alzahra Center extends the sincerest condolences to the Imam of our time, Imam al-Mahdi (aj), our great maraji and scholars, the Muslim Ummah, and all the lovers of the Ahlulbayt (as).

May Allah give us all the opportunity to answer the call: “Is there any helper who will help me?"

Ramadan 1447 | February 2026

“Exert yourselves (in doing good deeds) for verily in this month sustenance is apportioned, life spans are destined, the names of Allah's select servants who wish to strive towards Him are recorded down, and in this month is a night wherein the good deeds performed equal the deeds of a thousand months."

Al Zahra Islamic Center extends the warmest tabrikat to our beloved community and pray that Allah (swt) grants us all the tawfiq to honor this month with sincerity, growth, and devotion.

Al Zahra Islamic Center urges all of the community to partake in the blessings of this month by volunteering, helping, donating, sponsoring iftar, and sharing from the talents and resources Allah (swt) has given us.

Let’s all pray for the hastening of the reappearance of our awaited Imam al Mahdi (aj) and for the well-being of the entire Muslim ummah.

Abdulläh ibn Mas'ud reported that the Prophet said:
"If there were to remain of this world only one day, Allah would prolong that day until He sends a man from me, or from my Ahlul-Bayt, whose name will match my name and whose father's name will match my father's name. He will fill the earth with justice and equity, just as it had been filled with oppression and tyranny.”
