Ecclesiastes 1:9-11
What was, will be again, what has been done, will be done again, and there is nothing new under the sun!Take anything which people acclaim as being new: it existed in the centuries preceding us. No memory remains of the past, and so it will be for the centuries to come, they will not be remembered by their successors.

1 Maccabees 3:17-22, 58-60
But as soon as Judas (Israel) saw the force advancing to meet them, they said to Judas, 'How can we, few as we are, engage such overwhelming numbers? We are exhausted as it is, not having had anything to eat today.'
'It is easy', Judas answered, 'for a great number to be defeated by a few; indeed, in the sight of Heaven, deliverance, whether by many or by few, is all one; for victory in war does not depend on the size of the fighting force: Heaven accords the strength.
They are coming against us in full-blown insolence and lawlessness to destroy us, our wives and our children, and to plunder us; but we are fighting for our lives and our laws,
and he will crush them before our eyes; do not be afraid of them.' 'Stand to your arms,' Judas told them, 'acquit yourselves bravely, in the morning be ready to fight these gentiles massed against us to destroy us and our sanctuary. Better for us to die in battle than to watch the ruin of our nation and our Holy Place. Whatever be the will of Heaven, he will perform it.'

And just as this war, many more shall arise. Including October 7th 2023, but Elohim will never abandon Israel.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem…..

According to biblical scripture the painting of Michael Angelos’s Last Supper is NOT biblically based.

Mark 14:13, 15
So Yeshua sent two of his disciples, saying to them, 'Go into the city and you will meet a man carrying a pitcher of water. Follow him, He will show you a large upper room furnished with couches, all prepared. Make the preparations for us there.'

Now…these weren’t a sitting couch as we see today, they were pillows, just as in the Orient we see people in Eastern countries sitting on the floor, on a pillow. In fact Abe Torrez can account to this on our trip to Japan. The only place we were able to sit on a chair to eat was at a US base in Tokyo, Japan.

Let’s see why……yet 95% percent of Yeshua’s followers have Michael Angelos’s Last Supper picture in their minds. And may then ask themselves:

“Why weren’t they able to see Judas dip the bread in the wine as Yeshua said?” Everyone must have seen…..

Mark 14:20
He said to them, 'It is one of the Twelve, one who is dipping into the same dish with me.

If the seating arrangement in The Last Supper was followed by Yeshua as Michael Angelos’s, and not from the scriptures it could seems to be the case everyone saw Judas dipping the bread, therefore…we must now know that there was a different seating arrangement, not as a straight table but a triclinium table (much like the setting below), Jesus then was seated not in the center, but second from the left. John 13:23 indicates that John the beloved was seated to Jesus’ right, as John had to lean on the bosom of Christ to ask of the identity of the betrayer. Matthew 26:23 indicates that Judas was seated to the left of Christ, in the seat of honor, as both Jesus and Judas were able to eat from the same bowl. John 13:24 indicates that Peter was across from John, on the last seat to the right side, as he had to signal to John to ask Jesus who would betray him.

Now to get the picture correctly How were they seating?

There are four names that come up in the Last Supper they are: John, Yeshua, Judas, and Peter. None of the others are mentioned.

Actually they weren’t seating. Jews just as many other nations at the time ( and still some today) didn’t use a 4 foot standing table with chairs, they laid on their left side and ate with their right hand. This was the reason of “the couches” or today pillows.

Mark 14:13, 15
So Yeshua sent two of his disciples, saying to them, 'Go into the city and you will meet a man carrying a pitcher of water. Follow him, He will show you a large upper room furnished with couches, all prepared. Make the preparations for us there.'

This is the reason why Peter asked John….

John 13:22 The disciples looked at each other, wondering whom he meant….. ( not being able to see)

John 13:24 Simon Peter signed to him (John) and said, 'Ask who it is he (Yeshua) means,'

(Peter asked John (him), and Yeshua answered)

John 13:25 so leaning back close to Jesus' chest he said, 'Who is it, Lord?'
( meaning: if you’re on your left, John’s back rested on Yeshua chest, this could be the reason why John is called the Beloved). And next to Yeshua, Judas seats in “The Place of Honor”. In biblical times the third seat is the seat of honor. Now…. Can you image the betrayer “the guest of honor”?

John 13:26 Jesus answered, 'It is the one to whom I give the piece of bread that I dip in the dish.' And when he had dipped the piece of bread he gave it to Judas son of Simon Iscariot.

This would mean that Jesus had placed the youngest apostle John on the side of eminence, while placing Peter, the chief apostle, in the seat of the servant. This would make sense, for according to Luke 22, there was strife among the disciples as to whom was the greatest. Aa always y he teacher, Jesus said unto them: “But he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. Only by know the order of the Passover meal, one can understand this beautiful mystery.

So this means John (the younger) was the first seat, Yeshua (the mediator) second seat, and Peter (the older servant) twelfth seat, Judas Iscariot (the assigned betrayer) in the third seat, “ the seat of honor”. This was most likely the reason

John 13:28
None of the others at table understood why he said this.

This was the reason if you remember, when the controversy of The Transgender Last Supper, I mentioned this, but now decided to really lay it out.

I know this might seem strange to you, but as I studied, you could too. Yeshua said “ You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free…. Shalom Shabbat

Noah: A Righteous Man

“The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.” (Genesis 6:11–12)……Except Noah…was Noah Sinless? Aged the answer is NO. Noah lived in a common society, but he was uncommon, meaning: not like the others.

The Hebrew Scriptures describe Noah as tzadik (צַדִּיק righteous) and tamim (תָּמִים pure, innocent, complete and faultless). Noah stands in contrast to the time in which he lived. Only six chapters into the Bible and the world is already filled with violence and corruption. The very example of which the church should be. We as believers should be uncommon. This is what being “holy” is all about. Holy is not an attitude, Holiness means not being common. Yeshua was holy because he was not a common man. He was a set apart from all men. He spoke, walked, dressed, lived uncommonly. And so was Noah, and so should the church. But today people can’t tell the difference between the church and the world. This could be the reason why there are no miracles, as in the set apart “church” era. This was the reason of a persecution, if you live holy you will be persecuted. People won’t pay attention to your message. That’s one of the biggest problems we have today. The church of today goes along side of the world system, to gain their trust, and hope maybe they save people. And what will probably happen they get involved too much, they’ll find themselves to deep, they can’t get out.

Matthew 6:24-25
'No one can be the slave of two masters: he will either hate the first and love the second, or be attached to the first and despise the second. You cannot be the slave both of God and of money. 'That is why I am telling you not to worry about your life and what you are to eat, nor about your body and what you are to wear. Surely life is more than food, and the body more than clothing!

God vowed to destroy every person all except Noah and his family. These eight people would be miraculously saved in an ark that God instructed Noah to build. (1 Peter 3:20)

Noah obeyed God even though he saw no evidence of the coming deluge.
For that reason, the book of Hebrews includes Noah as one of the heroes of our faith:

Hebrews 11:7
It was through his faith that Noah, when he had been warned by God of something that had never been seen before, took care to build an ark to save his family. His faith was a judgement on the world, and he was able to claim the uprightness which comes from faith. Noah’s absolute faith in God, which resulted in uncompromising obedience, was the reason he was able to truly enter a place of blessed rest.
In fact, the name Noah, or Noach in Hebrew, means “rest”.

This is why it is so important to read our bibles from the beginnning, on a yearly bases. Last week we started our yearly cycle of reading and studying God’s Word with the Book of Genesis, Torah Portion #1 “Beresheet” that actually means as it is written “In The Beginning”

This is my summary of the 2nd Torah Portion call “Taldot of Noach” Noah’s Generation…..We could learn allot of a persons generations. Read Genesis the 6th chapter and find out why was Noah set apart. And you will find that each name of Noah’s descendants holds a beautiful mystery.

10/26/2024

As we finish of this years holiday’s, we. Begin a New Year’s worth of study and prayer….

Torah Portion #1 BEREISHEET (In the Beginning)
Genesis 1:1–6:8; Isaiah 42:5 43:10; John 1:1–18; Revelation 21:23

We start off with Torah Reading, Prophet Reading, Gospel Reading, and Epistle Reading. This way we cover the context of biblical history and contextual value.

In the traditional Jewish system of reading through the Torah, the annual reading cycle ended last week on The Book of Deuteronomy on the holiday of Simchat Torah (Rejoicing in the Torah). We now begin the yearly cycle again with Genesis (Bereisheet), which means in the beginning.

This beautiful weekly custom reminds us that our study of the Word of God never comes to a conclusion but is an ongoing cycle (just as life itself).

Week to week and year to year, reading the Word of God should never seem old to us, and every time we open it, the Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit) can impart fresh insight as we prayerfully consider familiar passages.

Where Is Yeshua (Jesus) in Creation?

“In the beginning God [Elohim] created [barah]the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)

While El is the singular form of God, the im ending of Elohim indicates plurality.
This doesn’t mean that there are many Gods creating the earth, but it does indicate that the nature of God involves a plurality as well as unity.
One reason we know this is because even though Elohim is plural, the Hebrew verb barah (created) is singular.
If more gods were involved in the act of creation, the verb would be plural, baroo and not barah.

However, in Genesis 1:26 and 3:22, the identity of our One Triune Elohim is clearly a plurality of some kind:

“Let US make man [Adam] in OUR image, after OUR likeness.” (Genesis 1:26)

“The man has now become like one of US.” (Genesis 3:22)

Who is in the “US“?

In the first verses of Genesis, we see God (Elohim) as Creator, and the Spirit (Ruach) of God is hovering (breathing) over the waters.

But Where is Yeshua (Jesus)? The let their be light Yeshua?
The Apostle John tells us that Yeshua was not only “with God” but He accomplished His craftsmanship work as the Word of God itself: when she said……” let there be light “

“In the beginning [Bereisheet] was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made, that was made… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us….” (John 1:1-3, 14)

Yeshua knew exactly what to create and how to design everything because He is “the exact imprint of God’s nature,” and “He upholds the universe by the word of His power.” (Hebrews 1:3)

Now those are powerful words!
The good news is that we are created in the image of Yeshua who is one in Elohim, so the words we speak can also have have power too. We…Unlike Yeshua who is Elohim and sinless are not sinless. The bad thing about us, is that we often abuse that power.
We seem to instinctively know that when we speak dark, destructive words, we may bring into existence the very thing we hate or fear.

“For the thing which I fear comes on me; That which I am afraid of comes to me.” (Job 3:25)

So, why do so many Believers not speak forth the light of God’s truth in order to bring forth His light into their lives?

Let Give Light, Truth, and Freedom, Instead of Kaos as was before Yeshua Spoke light in excistense! Although there was only Chaos and darkeness until Yeshua literally spoke.

“And God (Yeshua) said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” (Genesis 1:3)

Because we are made in the image of Elohim, our words have power.
When we align our speech with God’s Word, we bring light into our lives and those around us.
On the other hand, speaking darkness and evil toward ourselves or others is a form of a curse. But God gives us a way to break the curse and free us from this sin.

John 8:31-32
“If you abide in My word, you are truly My disciples,” Yeshua said. “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Man earnestly prays before Elohim’s throne just as our Jewish brother pray at the Western (Wailing) Wall. If we truly abide in the Word of Yeshua, who is God Himself, then we will naturally speak forth the light of God. Only His light will free us from the darkness of our self-imposed lifestyle.

In this week’s parasha, we see the tragic consequences of living in that darkness and God’s plan for redemption dramatically demonstrated in the lives of Cain and Abel.

The Consequences of Self-Imposed Curses

When God declares one thing, and we declare another, that’s a self-imposed curse upon ourselves , and by giving our self expose opinion we could damage, instead of edify. But God in His great mercy gives us a way to break that curse, just as He did with Cain.
Cain, the first son of Adam and Eve and a farmer, made a decision to offer a sacrifice to God from his field. His brother Abel, a shepherd, offered an animal sacrifice.
God accepted Abel’s offering but was not content with Cain’s. Scripture never reveals that Elohim didn’t recieve Cain’s offering, but obviously liked Abel’s better. Cause Abel gave from his first fruits as so greatly God deserves. We love God (ahawvah) which literally means to give.

Cain resents Abel’s offering being Resentment and bittered, and jealousy toward the acceptance that God gave Abel festered in Cain’s heart. However, in God’s great love toward His creation, He gave Cain the opportunity to think differently about the situation:

Genesis 4:6-7
The Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry, and why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is lurking at the door; its desire is for you, but you must master it.”

Although God liked Cain’s sacrifice, and loved Abel obedience, He gave Cain real hope that next time, he would be accepted if he changed his thinking and behavior.
For instance, Cain could have said, “I’m sorry, Lord, for not offering to you what you require. Next time, I will ask my brother Abel to help me choose a sacrifice and teach me how to offer it to you.”

Cain could have mastered his shortcoming with God by humbly acknowledging his failing and taking steps to follow God’s instructions. That would have been true teshuvah (repentance) turning back, repenting, something God has always desired of each of us, as He told the Israelites before being taken captive:

“I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares YHVH Sabaoth. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin.” (Ezekiel 18:30)

Instead of following God’s directions, Cain chose to let his shortcoming master him; the anger and jealousy festering in his heart transformed into a plot of revenge and self-sabotage.
Cain killed the very person he most wanted to become. A man in good standing with God.
Although God allowed Cain to marry, have children, and live a long life, he would have to toil hard to harvest the ground for food (verses 12–13), and most likely would live with a lifelong guilt of killing his brother.
Unfortunately, Cain’s sin didn’t stop with him. Five generations later, a man wounded Cain’s descendant Lamech, and Lamech killed him without remorse (Genesis 4:24).

Lamech’s son, Tubal-Cain became a man who made “all kinds of bronze and iron tools,” which some scholars believe were used as weapons of war (verse 22).

However, another man named Lamech (a descendant of Adam and Eve’s other third son Seth) would have a son named Noah, who would obey God and save mankind from being totally destroyed. But we will leave that for next week’s parasha reading.

As a Torah observant man, we also study on a daily based the what is known as The Old Testament, and the New Testament as well. This week’s Prophet reading the Haftarah:
In traditional Sabbath Torah reading, the parashah is divided into seven readings, or עליות‎, aliyot. In a Masoretic Text of the Tanakh(Hebrew Bible), so we read and study aliyot once a day from beginning to end, which covers the whole Bible in one year. Let’s get back to our teaching.

The Consequences of Praising God!

In the prophetic reading for this Shabbat, we discover the consequences for using our words as God created us to use them to praise Him and only Him!
Isaiah 42:10-12
Sing to the LORD a new song, His praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, your islands, and all who live in them.
Let the wilderness and its towns raise their voices; let the settlements where Kedar lives rejoice.
Let the people of Sela sing for joy; let them shout from the mountaintops.
Let them give glory to the Lord and proclaim His praise in the islands.” (Isaiah 42:10-12)

Praising God with our words can lead to God stepping in to give us victory. It can also open our spiritual eyes so that God’s light guides our path brighter than before, or perhaps for the first time, as He says in the next verses:

“The Lord will march out like a champion, like a warrior He will stir up His zeal; with a shoutHe will raise the battle cry and will triumph over His enemies…
“I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth.” (Isaiah 42:13, 16)

At the end of time, Israel’s eyes will be opened and their high vocation as God’s witnesses will be fulfilled.

“‘But you are My witnesses, O Israel!’ says the Lord. ‘You are My servant. You have been chosen to know Me, believe in Me, and understand that I alone am God. There is no other God there never has been, and there never will be.'” (Isaiah 43:10)

And we know that one day, Jew and Gentile will walk together in the Light of the Lamb in the glorious New Jerusalem that awaits all those who come to know Messiah Yeshua as Savior and Lord:
And of course we must tour this scriptures to the New Testament….

“The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.” (Revelation 21:23f

Let's look a little closer at what exactly the Torah is comprised of, and how the Jewish People celebrate God's Righteous Word here in Israel and around the world.

Although we are still celebrating The Feast of Sukkot. Tomorrow (Saturday) will begin Simchat Torah (the last and final day of the great feast. Here in our congratulation, and elsewhere in the world this wonderful holiday begins at sunset tommow at the conclusion of Shemini Atzeret (Eighth Day of Assembly), a Biblically mandated assembly celebrated the day after Sukkot ends (Leviticus 23:36). Yeshua celebrated and said “if anyone thirst, let him come into me and drink”. (John 7:37)

This coming Saturday here in Albuquerque, at around 7:30 p.m. Haderech YHVH people will gather in each city and village square throughout the Holy Land, and through out the world. Hopefully most of Israel's 7.3 million Jewish People will be rejoicing in the Word of God in one accord. We will begin a brand new year, with another cycle of Torah Reading. Beresheet ( in the beginning).

Moadim L'Simcha (Appointed Times for Joy) and SHABBAT SHALOM Set-Apart Ones!

During the weeklong festival of Sukkot (Tabernacles), the regular Parasha (Torah portion) for Shabbat is suspended, and a special Parasha pertaining to the holiday is read in our congregation this day.

Please read along with us and learn how Sukkot represents the sheltering presence of God. I know you will be blessed!

This is my special Torah Portion for my family on this Shabbat…
Shabbat Chol Hamoed Sukkot
They are the days sandwiched between the beginning and ending holy days of both festivals of Passover and Sukkot. Being Passover the beginning. And Sukkot the end.

Exodus 33:12–34:26; Ezekiel 38:18–39:16; Revelation 21:1–22:21

Tora Portion..Kitisa ( when you take)
“Behold, I make a covenant: before all your people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the Lord: for it is an awesome thing that I will do with you.” (Exodus 34:10)

In this special Sukkot reading, Moses asks that God’s presence would go with Israel, and God agrees. Encouraged by this positive response, Moses also asks to see God’s glory. Once again, God graciously complies with his request and invites Moses to ascend Mount Sinai with two newly hewn stone tablets so that He can re-carve the Ten Commandments. The first set of Commandments we broken when Moses saw Israel’s disobedience with the Golden Calf incident.

On the mountain, God reveals His glory to Moses in such a fearsome spectacle of power that God must protect Moses from being destroyed by it.

"There is a place near Me where you can stand on a rock. When My glory passes by, I will put you in an opening in the rock. I will cover you with My hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove My hand. You will see My back. But My face must not be seen." (Exodus 33:21–23)

Beloved, who is this Rock of protection?

It's clear that Moses, having experienced the power of the presence of God, understands that His presence is more than sufficient against any threat Israel might encounter inside or outside the Promise Land.

The Gog and Magog: Will Challenging the Restoration of Israel

The Prophetical Reading
“This is what will happen in that day: When Gog attacks the land of Israel, My hot anger will be aroused.” (Ezekiel 38:18)

In the Haftarah (prophetic portion) for this Shabbat Chol Hamoed (intermediate day of the festival) of Sukkot, the Hebrew prophet Ezekiel (not only a prophet, but a High Priest) describes an end-time scenario in which formidable armies from the north, under the leadership of Gog, will challenge the restoration of Israel.

Many people define Gog as a country or state, but it simply is a version of a Pharaoh. A semi-god that from the land of Magog. An anti-Christ, Semitic powered Country that will come against Christ.

Gog is a chief prince living in the land of Magog (Ezekiel 38:2). Many scholars believe Magog refers to Russia. The invading land of Gomer is often believed to be Germany.

Several lands in the coalition army are easily identifiable: Iran (Persia), Northern Sudan (ancient Ethiopia or Cush), Libya (Put), and Turkey (Togarmah).

Today, Russia has a "permanent" air base in Syria at Khmeimim and leases the naval base in Tartus. Anti-Semitic today has been seen and demonstrated in The United States of America…this is nothing strange.

Iran not only has significant influence in Iraq and Lebanon through proxy forces, but its radical regime has invested billions in infrastructure and military operations in Syria, even building missile manufacturing plants there. Many aided by US funding.

Note….
I am not saying The United States of America is anti Christ, but I will say this is one of the biggest reason we vote on November every four years, we the people are the majority, and our vote is our voice.

The nations mentioned in Ezekiel 38 will unite and come upon Israel "like a cloud that covers the land" for the purpose of looting the wealth that she has amassed in what was a desolate land only seventy-six years ago.

Yet, God will not abandon His People. He will utterly destroy the coalition forces of Gog so that all nations will come to know the holiness of the Lord (Ezekiel 38:18–23).

The forces that come against Israel will be so large in their day of defeat that Gog’s weaponry will provide fuel for Israel for seven years (Ezekiel 39:9).

Could you imagine the cost of fuel, food, and housing? If availability…

But we as Haderech YHVH will not be abandon…. Psalms 91

"They will not need to gather wood from the fields or cut it from the forests, because they will use the weapons for fuel. And they will plunder those who plundered them and loot those who looted them, declares the Sovereign LORD." (Ezekiel 39:10)

Moreover, so many soldiers will die in this battle that it will take seven months for Israel to bury them alland cleanse their land (Ezekiel 39:12).

Sukkot and the Protective Covering of God

Why do we read about this end-time battle during Sukkot?

According to tradition, this war will be waged during the month of Tishri, the month in which the holiday of Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) falls. We seen the attack on Israel on Feast of Sukkot last year 0ctober 7th 2023

Interestingly enough, the war that is described in Ezekiel is similar to the war described in the 14th chapter of Zechariah, the Haftarah reading on the first day of Sukkot. And in Zechariah we learn that the Gentiles who survive the war against Israel will be required to keep Sukkot annually by coming up to the Holy City of Jerusalem to worship the Lord. That means my Christian brothers you to…..

"Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles [Sukkot]. If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, they will have no rain." (Zechariah 14:16–17)

Psalm 27 presents a clear connection between Sukkot and God’s protection of Israel and those who trust in Him:

“For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle [sukkah]; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.” (Psalm 27:5)

The word translated here as tabernacle is the Hebrew word sukkah (סכה). When evil threatens God’s people, He will hide them in His sukkah, inaccessible from the enemy on the rock of His presence.

Now that is a promise we can trust in during these last days!

The Battle of Armageddon

New Testament Reading
“When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison, and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth — Gog and Magog — to gather them for battle.” (Revelation 20:7–8)

Gog and Magog are also mentioned in the Brit Chadashah (New Testament) in connection with Armageddon and the final battle between the forces of good and evil.

This war with Gog and Magog is not the same war described in Ezekiel 38 …..but a final end-time battle after the thousand-year reign of Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Messiah).

The Son of David, Yeshua, will come again — this time as our conquering Messiah to defeat the invading forces forever. All who have believed in their Savior, Yeshua, will inherit eternity in the New Jerusalem — a revived Garden of Eden complete with trees of life and pure living water that will be good to eat and drink forever.

Armageddon is mentioned only once in the Brit Chadashah (New Testament) in chapter 16 of the Book of Revelation.

"They are spirits of demons performing miraculous signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty.... Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon." (Revelation 16:14, 16)

The word Armageddon is derived from Har Magedon (meaning mountain of Megiddo) and is mentioned many times in the Tanakh (Old Testament).

Megiddo is derived from the Hebrew word gadad, meaning to pe*****te, muster troops together, perhaps even invade.

Now we are seeing signs of end times, the worse is still to come. I know many Pre-Tribs are going to mock this teaching, but let’s continue….

In this end-time invasion, we once again see Israel’s enemies mounting a war against Jerusalem. This time, however, we see the spiritual forces behind the rebellion against God:

“They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon.” (Revelation 9:11)

The words Abaddon and Apollyonmean Destroyer.

And this time, God pours out on the Destroyer and all rebels the full extent of His judgment, including everlasting torment for Satan, the beast and the false prophet.

"They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city He loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. And Satan, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever." (Revelation 20:9–10)

As we read how God will hurl His fury against Gog with pestilence and with blood, floods, giant hailstones, fire and brimstone, it's easy to see from this Haftarah portion that God is furious with those who come against the Land of Israel (Ezekiel 38:22).

In fact, there are several parallels between God’s deliverance of Israel from Egypt long ago and His future deliverance of Israel from Gog in the end times. In both, we see that God saves and rescues Israel with a strong hand and with an outstretched arm.

The phrase with a strong hand and an outstretched arm (בְּיָ֣ד חֲ֭זָקָה וּבִזְר֣וֹעַ נְטוּיָ֑ה) has special meaning in Haderech YHYV. It represents God using His power on behalf of His people. The "arm of the Lord" also represents His salvation, which in Hebrew is Yeshua.

“You brought your people Israel out of Egypt with signs and wonders, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with great terror.” (Jeremiah 32:21, see also Deuteronomy 4:34; 26:8; Exodus 6:6)

As Russia continues its influence in the region and as neighboring nations plot to annihilate Israel, there is certainly evidence that Ezekiel 38 is on the horizon. Yet, this Sukkot Parasha reveals that God’s Divine Sheltering Presence over Israel has not ended but will continue past the end of this age.

God is not finished with Israel. This is plainly evident when we consider how Bible Prophecy concerning Israel is being fulfilled during these end times before our very eyes.

The Brit Chadashah (New Covenant) also tells us that God’s plan to reach out to the nations through Israel did not end with the death and resurrection of Messiah, but continues to this day and will in the world to come:

“For if their casting Yeshua [Jesus] aside means reconciliation for the world, what will their accepting Him mean? It will be life from the dead!” (Romans 11:15)

The Book of Romans promises that when the Jewish People come to know Yeshua, it will be like life from the dead for the world.

Before this can happen, however, they must first hear the Good News of Yeshua!

"How can they call on Him unless they believe in Him? How can they believe in Him unless they hear about Him? How can they hear about Him unless someone preaches to them?" (Romans 10:

"Hear the word of the LORD, you nations; proclaim it in distant coastlands: 'He who scattered Israel will gather them and will watch over His flock like a shepherd.'" (Jeremiah 31:10)
