Pullman Memorial Universalist Church

Pullman Memorial Universalist Church Unitarian Universalist congregation of religious liberals in Orleans County and vicinity

Pullman Memorial Universalist Church has a rich and lengthy history, having been founded over 100 years ago, in 1891. Today’s congregation represents a diverse cross section of western New York state’s population. Current members include life-long UUs as well as recent “converts,” politically leaning liberals and conservatives, straights and g**s, older and younger ages. Because PMUC is a non-cree

dal church, members may hold a variety of faith beliefs, ranging from Christianity to nature-centered to agnosticism and atheism. At PMUC we have found that celebrating our differences makes us stronger and happier than allowing them to divide us. We take close to heart the words of James Vila Blake…

Love is the spirit of this church,
and service is its law. This is our great covenant:
To dwell together in peace,
to seek the truth in love,
and to help one another.

The Unitarian Universalist Association is a sponsor of the March 28 No Kings National Day of Nonviolent Action. Find or host an event in your community: https://www.nokings.org/?SQF_SOURCE=uua

History is clear: people-led movements — not force, not one politician — are how we end attacks on our rights and attempts at authoritarianism. We, the people, will save each other. When communities stand together in nonviolent action, fear loses its power.

Ahead of No Kings March 28, join one of their upcoming trainings: Making a Safety Plan, Organizing for No Kings & Beyond, Safety & Deescalation 201, Protest Rights & Safety Practices, and more. Check the Trainings tab at https://www.nokings.org/?SQF_SOURCE=uua.

In 2025, the UUA reiterated its opposition to such military action. We do so again today, and every day these armed attacks continue.

These are not ordinary days.

In “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,” Wren Bellavance-Grace speaks directly to this moment—naming the fear, exhaustion, and grief so many are carrying, and affirming that it is both normal and human to feel not okay right now.

She reminds us that our congregations remain places of welcome, love, and safety—and that none of us are meant to carry this alone. Not everyone is called to the front lines. Each of us is called to do what we can, where we are.
