If you call Immanuel Baptist Church your church, you need to be here tomorrow. God has given us a mission and a vision as a church, and we need to be part of that. You cannot be part of it if you aren't here. So come and worship tomorrow at 11 am as we continue through the book of Habakkuk. - Pastor David

Here is another devotional for you for today!

Read: Psalm 1:2

Many people think of the Bible as simply a list of rules, but Scripture is much more than that. It is God's gracious revelation of Himself. Through His Word, we learn His character, His promises, and His heart. The righteous person doesn't merely read the Bible out of obligation; he delights in it because he loves the God who gave it.

Every healthy relationship requires time together. Our relationship with Christ is no different. As we meditate on Scripture day and night, our trust in Him deepens. That steady time with God prepares us long before trials arrive. Instead of scrambling to find hope when life falls apart, we discover that hope has already taken root because we've been walking with the Lord all along.

As a Home for Hope for All, we want to provide you with opportunities to grow. Here is a devotional for today from our sermon yesterday.

Read: Psalm 1:1-2

Every day is filled with choices. Some seem insignificant, while others shape the direction of our lives. Psalm 1 reminds us that every decision is ultimately leading us down one of two paths—the way of the righteous or the way of the wicked. There is no middle ground. The blessed person refuses to be shaped by the world's counsel and instead delights in God's Word.

Notice the progression in verse one: walking, standing, and sitting. Sin rarely overtakes us all at once. It begins with listening to ungodly voices, continues through participation, and eventually becomes a settled way of life. Thankfully, God offers a better way. As we fill our hearts with His truth, He changes our desires and redirects our steps. Today, ask yourself which voices are shaping your thinking. The road of righteousness begins by listening to the Lord.

On Sunday morning, we will celebrate what God has done with Immanuel Baptist over the last 79 years. We are going to welcome Rev. Jack Benoy to share God's word with us. Jack's father, Rev. Howard Benoy, served as pastor at Immanuel from 1972-1987. After our service, we will go to our fellowship hall and enjoy a wonderful meal together.
