On My Honor Means Something...
In a culture where definitions shift and standards bend, boys are quietly asking: Is there anything that won’t change?
At Trail Life USA, our mission is clear: to guide generations of courageous young men to honor God, lead with integrity, serve others, and experience outdoor adventure.
The men of Trail Life understand that character does not depend on polling data. It isn’t shaped by funding pressures or cultural winds. It is formed by conviction found in the eternal truth of scripture and fueled by men who plant their feet and say, “This is true yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever.”
Recent headlines have highlighted mounting pressure on Scouting America to reverse certain diversity initiatives or risk losing federal recognition and support. The organization announced it is discontinuing the DEI-centered Citizenship in Society merit badge while assuring members that nothing fundamental has changed.
Funding pressures are real. Political crosswinds are real.
But character cannot be crowdsourced from cultural consensus. The Scout Oath begins with the words, “On my honor.” Honor assumes something solid. It assumes right and wrong are not redefined every few years. Boys cannot grow into men of honor if honor itself feels negotiable.
That is why Trail Life exists.
We believe character matters, honor is non-negotiable, that truth is eternal, and that boys and girls are different — by design. We understand that boys thrive in environments that channel their energy into courage, responsibility, brotherhood, service, and adventure.
