Mikayla Ellis, Kid's Pastor - "Wake The Dead"

John 10:10 (NLT)
The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to
give them a rich and satisfying life, and have it to the full.

Ephesians 2:1-3 (NLT)
Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many
sins. 2 You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying
the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is
the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.
3 All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and
inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject
to God’s anger, just like everyone else.

Hebrews 12:1 (NLT)
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a
huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every
weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us
up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

Ephesians 2:4-6 (NLT)
But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much,5 that even
though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he
raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have
been saved!) 6 For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and
seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with
Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:11 (NLT)
The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And
just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your
mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.

John 11:3-4 (NLT) So the two sisters sent a message to Jesus telling
him,
“Lord, your dear friend is very sick.
” 4 But when Jesus heard
about it he said,
“Lazarus’s sickness will not end in death. No, it
happened for the glory of God so that the Son of God will receive
glory from this.”

John 11:5-6 (NLT)
So although Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, 6 he stayed
where he was for the next two days.

John 11:11-13 (NLT)
11 Then he said,
“Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but now I will
go and wake him up.
” 12 The disciples said,
“Lord, if he is sleeping,
he will soon get better!” 13 They thought Jesus meant Lazarus was
simply sleeping, but Jesus meant Lazarus had died.

1 Corinthians 15:56-57 (NLT)
56 For sin is the sting that results in
death, and the law gives sin its power. 57 But thank God! He gives us
victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:10-11
10 Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life
of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies. 11 Yes, we live under constant danger of
death because we serve Jesus, so that the life of Jesus will be evident in our dying
bodies.

John 11:23-26 (NLT)
23 Jesus told her, “Your brother will rise again.”
24 “Yes,” Martha said, “he will rise when everyone else rises, at the last day.”
25 Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life.[a]Anyone who believes in
me will live, even after dying.26 Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will
never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”

1 John 5:11-12 (NLT) 11 And this is what God has testified: He has given us
eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever
does not have God’s Son does not have life.

John 11:33-34 (NLT)
When Jesus saw her weeping and saw the other people wailing with
her, a deep anger welled up within him,[a] and he was deeply
troubled. 34 “Where have you put him?” he asked them.

John 11:38 (NLT)
38 Jesus was still angry as he arrived at the tomb, a
cave with a stone rolled across its entrance.

John 11:41-45 (NLT)
So they rolled the stone aside. Then Jesus looked up to
heaven and said, “Father, thank you for hearing me. 42 You always hear me, but I
said it out loud for the sake of all these people standing here, so that they will
believe you sent me.” 43 Then Jesus shouted, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 And the
dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped
in a headcloth. Jesus told them, “Unwrap him and let him go!”

John 11:14-15 (NLT)
14 So he told them plainly,
“Lazarus is dead. 15 And for your sakes,
I’m glad I wasn’t there, for now you will really believe. Come, let’s go
see him."

You can't earn your freedom through good behavior. God rescues you first, then teaches you how to live. That's the real message of Exodus.

Salvation isn't the finish line—it's the starting point. God rescues us first, then invites us into real discipleship and transformation. Your freedom in Christ is the beginning of a new life, not the end of the journey.

The order matters: God frees you BEFORE He fixes you. He doesn't say 'obey and maybe I'll save you.' He says 'I've already rescued you—now let me show you what freedom looks like.' Obedience is your response to His rescue, not the price of it.

For 400 years, Pharaoh controlled what they ate. Now God was rewriting everything. This isn't just a story about bread, it's about what it looks like to truly become God's people.
