Pentecost is the day we celebrate the birthday of the Church and the arrival of the Holy Spirit. This year, we will celebrate not only that holy moment in the life of the Church, but also a new beginning among us: the formation of the North Stanly Parish.
Together, Bethany UMC, New London UMC, The Haven Emerging Community, Badin UMC, and First Street UMC will gather as one body in Christ, giving thanks for the Spirit who still calls, connects, and sends us to do the work of Christ.

Obituary for Alice Booth Alimonti- David Odell's mother

Alice Booth Alimonti was born on March 10, 1930, in Beacon, New York, and passed away on March 15, 2026, at the age of 96. She was the daughter of Spencer and Minnie Grace Booth who preceded her in death, as well as her 3 sisters – Mary Doherty, Polly Henderson and Janet Faucher. She was married to Samuel Alimonti in 1979 who also preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Tanzosch of Fruitland Park, FL, son Robert Odell (Phyllis) of Stormville, NY, and son David Odell (Kathy) of Albemarle, NC. She is also survived by stepdaughters Bonnie Alimonti Lindberg (Steve), Pamela Alimonti and Tanya
Alimonti DePersiis (Angelo). Alice and Sam both retired from IBM in NY, and moved to Lady Lake, Florida in 1986. They
shared many happy hours with friends who also moved to Florida, and on the golf course as long of their health permitted. Alice was a member of the Wiccopee Fire Co Auxiliary, the
Wiccopee United Methodist Church and The Grange in Wiccopee. Alice loved putting together puzzles of all sizes and always had one on her puzzle table. In recent years she
enjoyed many wonderful outings with The Red Hats. She was wonderful at remembering birthdays and anniversaries, and you could always expect a card in the mail.
Her grandchildren loved her and will cherish the memory of her quick wit and never-ending love. In addition to her children, those surviving include grandchildren Rick Armitage
(Becky, son Noah), Sarah Tanzosch, Rebecca Tanzosch, Judy Tanzosch (Kevin), Kate Tanzosch, Patrick Odell (Melissa, and children Caitlin, Allison and Emily), Kelly Dixon (John
and children Caitlin and Alden), Michele Baucom (Jeff, and children Andria, Bailey and Benjamin), Windy Frank (Erik and children Celeste, Hailey, Breann and Colter), and Wesley
Calkins. She also is survived by several great, great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by grandson William “Billy” Odell (daughter Cheyenne) and granddaughter Jamie Odell
Parker (daughter Skyler and son Raylen).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 2-4pm at Beyers Funeral Home and Crematory, 134 US-441, Lady Lake, Florida. A graveside service will be held on Friday
at 12:30 pm at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL where she will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her memory to the charity of
one’s choice.
