Dan Mosley and a few faithful Christian followers, it was decided to organize the Second Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church. Among the charter members were Deacons’ Peter Scott, William Jackson, Frank Murray and others. These men of God along with the faithful membership were instrumental in the building project. God empowered the membership to walk in the words of Philippians 4:13, “I can do all

things through Christ which strengthens me”. We have had six pastors who were led by the Holy Spirit: Dan Mosley, Elbert Thomas, Dozier Scott, William Boyd, Charles Carr and Jimmy Ewings, Sr. Our current pastor is Rance Pettibone, Sr. who became our pastor in 2002. A great accomplishment was becoming a full-time church in 1989. The church did not observe its 91st anniversary. On July 7th 1994 the great flood devastated the city of Albany and many members were affected. Roads were closed and many were unable to get to service. By the grace of God all the lives of our members were spared. In July 2003, we celebrated our centennial anniversary. Today, the church consists of approximately 75 members and the following ministries: Deacons, Deaconess, Trustees, Pastoral, Men, Women, Sunday school - Christian Education, Choir, Ushers - Greeters, Youth, Kitchen, Transportation, and Secretarial.
