ThisIsTheGospel.com is a simple guide to relationally-centered discipleship. What is the Gospel of Jesus Christ? How do you know if you’re really saved?

What does it actually mean to be "saved"? There are so many questions that surround the salvation-based teachings of Jesus Christ. "This is the Gospel" is dedicated to presenting a simple, biblically based, non-denominational view of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We exist for three reasons:
• First, we want to share the Gospel with you.
• Second, we want to equip you to share the Gospel with ot

hers.
• Third, we want to provide resources for making disciples. The ultimate goal of this page is not to get someone to say a “sinner’s prayer,” make an emotional decision, or check “God” off the to-do list; the ultimate goal of this site is for people to experience a reconciled relationship with God through Jesus Christ. When the relationship is reconciled, we want to encourage people to pursue Christ by loving God, uniting with believers, serving the world, and entrusting the Gospel. The result will be changed lives, restored families, blessed communities, and the expansion of God’s Kingdom.

This Fall, Sherwood OnMission course students, equipped with This is The Gospel training, partnered with FCA in Americus to invest the Gospel into high school and college athletes. We saw close to 230 students gather, nine profess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and twenty-two students affirm their commitment to grow their relationship with Jesus.
Praise God for continuing to transform lives. To God be the Glory!

Over three days 500 workers were equipped to build gospel-proclaiming, gospel-centered churches to reach all of Africa with the gospel.

We’re grateful to partner with other gospel-centered churches to advance the gospel around the world. Thank you, Bayleaf Baptist Church and North Wake, for your partnership in the gospel.

We’ve kicked off our 12-week This Is the Gospel training with more than 40 students!

Our goal is equipping believers to integrate the gospel into every area of life. We’re focusing on loving our neighbors next door to us, working on fine tuning our personal testimony and sowing seeds of the gospel in every interaction.

As you go, pursue God. Pursuing God leads to loving God. Loving God leads to loving people. Loving people leads to a desire to minister the gospel.

God is moving in Brazil and Mozambique. We sent two teams to two continents to engage two different groups of people who speak the same language. Thank you to the Brazilian Baptist Association, Director Claudio de Almeida Silva, and Eric and Ramona Reese for hosting This Is the Gospel Spiritual Congress. We’re grateful for the privilege to equip 200 pastors and ministry leaders who represent at least 20,000 people in Brazil, and we’re confident God is using this Congress gathering.

Thank you to YWAM leaders Victor and Lori for hosting the team in Mozambique. It was an honor to have served in Mozambique where the team ministered the gospel with key community leaders and baptized 21 believers of Jesus Christ.

The hearts of Brazilian and Mozambican ministry leaders were open, teachable, full of worship and ready to be on mission with This Is the Gospel. Unity was evident among the teams and the groups they served in both countries. We all had one spirit and one mind, striving together for the faith of the gospel.

Pray for God to move mightily among the Brazilian churches and Mozambican believers to lead globally in sending missionaries around the world. We’re confident in Christ that He is using this work on both continents for the gospel to go the corners of the Earth, that all may know Christ and make Him known.

"He raises the needy from the ash heap." – Psalm 113:7b

On a recent trip to Maui, I patronized a coffee shop at the only current grocery store in Lahaina where I noticed this full table of older men, younger men and boys each with the Bible open in front of them.

Looking to see how God is moving in the aftermath of the fires, curiosity compelled me to ask who they were and what they were doing.

A few of the older guys spoke up and said this is how they're rebuilding Lahaina from the ashes for the next generation. Belief in the gospel, by the Word of God, through relationship with Jesus.

What a beautiful picture of the power of the gospel. These men have it right. The only lasting foundation for Lahaina is one built on relationship with Jesus Christ who is the only Way, the Truth and the Life.

In Psalm 20:7 King David said, “Some boast in chariots and some in horses, but we will boast in the name of the Lord our God.”

Thank you to these men of Lahaina who are modeling how to lead well.

It’s worth repeating over and over again – everything God desires to do in and through your life He will accomplish out of the overflow of your relationship with Him.

This spring has been busy sending three teams out to share the gospel! We trained, equipped and deployed 25 team members from Sherwood Baptist Church supporting the work of two churches in Clarkston, Georgia – Clarkston International Bible Church and Rehoboth Baptist Church.

We also trained, equipped and deployed two different teams to serve in Maui. The first team battled weather, engine problems and flight rerouting, but arrived and served undeterred from the mission. In total, 32 team members rebuilt homes with Samaritan’s Purse and integrated the gospel in the local community through Lahaina Baptist Church. God is on the move reconciling people to Himself!

We were pleased to bring missionaries, pastors and church planters to our home church for a time of refreshing and equipping! This is one of the most effective ways to influence and strengthen the work of the gospel among the nations.
