Bishop Alex Berry was born March 28, 1939, in Big Cane, Louisiana, a small town largely known for its sugar cane plantations. Big Cane Louisiana is 2 hours and 19 minutes west of New Orleans, Louisiana. Bishop’ father Elder Milton Berry was a local pastor, and husband of the late Effie Jackson Berry. Together, Milton and Effie raised 13 children, Alex was the last and youngest of them. As a child, the young Alex Berry would witness his father work hard on the fields-all day, to sometimes go straight to church to preach all night, get up the next morning to do it all over again. Bishop have said on occasions, “while praying, sometimes for hours, Daddy would clap his hands until they’d seem bloody.” This he said, to remember the harshness of the time he grew up in. In 1955, his father, Pastor Milton (Son/Uncle Bud) Berry died, when Alex was only 14 years old. Afterwards, he was looked after by his older siblings, mostly his brothers, Joseph (Joe) Berry and Peter Berry. Young Alex grew up between Port Arthur and Houston Tx. He met the love of his life, Christine Manley, in 1959, married her in 1960. Soon afterwards, the couple received the Holy Ghost together in a Revival under the leadership of Bishop Albert and his wife Desi Malory. Around that time, Alex heard the call of God to preach his word. His first sermon was Psalms 119:89. 'Forever O Lord, thy Word is Settled in Heaven'. Soon after these things he was ordained to be both pastor and Bishop by Bishop James. Afterwards God gave Bishop A. Berry a mysterious revelation about the incarnation of Jesus, and the importance of preaching Jesus's name. And on Jesus’ name, Bishop Alex Berry would find and establish, The Church of Jesus Christ from God Incorporation. The impact of the Church of Jesus Christ from God under the leadership of Bishop A Berry would influence men and women nation-wide from its beginning until this day. Bishop A Berry finished his course in 2002.
In closing, there is not enough space, or time to write all about our great Bishop, however,
