First Presbyterian Church of Albany

First Presbyterian Church of Albany First Pres is a welcoming, inclusive congregation. Join us for worship Sundays at 10:30 a.m. First Presbyterian has a long history in the city of Albany.

We are: progressive in our theology and on social issues, traditional in worship. Established in 1763, First Presbyterian has been an active leader in the community, ministering to the needs of people both in the neighborhood and around the world. We are a congregation that works for peace and justice in our society. Our Mission Statement defines First Presbyterian as an inclusive church that "wel

comes persons of differing abilities, of all economic and ethnic groups, of any sexual orientation, to share with us the joy, the power, the challenge of God's good news in Jesus Christ." Worship is central to the life of our congregation, providing inner reinforcement as it prepares us to go out into the world to serve. Please check out our Worship page on our website for service times. You will find more about First Presbyterian Church and its programs of Christian Education for children and adults, our music ministry, and spiritual development groups as you move around our website. We are located at the corner of State and Willett streets on the edge of Washington Park in downtown Albany. We invite you to visit us and consider joining our community of faith - participating in the work that our Lord has given us.

Compassionate One, with humble hearts, we ask for strength, wisdom and compassion to care for all your children. Guide us as we help our neighbors in need so that all can “abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places” (Isaiah 32:18).
