Episcopal Church of St. John and St. Mark

Episcopal Church of St. John and St. Mark We are a diverse church following Jesus in the way of Love. On Sundays at 11am we offer Holy Eucharist with a mix of hymns and praise songs. John and St.

ALL are welcome and loved. Formed following the 1994 flood by merging St. John's Church, predominantly African-American, and St. Mark's Church, predominantly white, the congregation of St. Mark continues as an ethnically diverse and welcoming church community. Membership is small, but we have a big heart for ministry and outreach in our community. We invite you to join us.

✨ A Blessing for Our Church Family ✨

Today, we were blessed to have Suzanne Wilson share the beauty and wonder of Godly Play.Through storytelling, reflection, and imagination, Godly Play helps both children and adults connect with God’s love in meaningful ways.

Jesus often taught through stories, inviting people to discover truth for themselves. Godly Play follows that same spirit, encouraging hearts to listen, wonder, and grow in faith. It reminds us that every person has a place in God’s story and that His love is always at work in our lives.

Thank you, Suzanne, for sharing your gifts and helping us experience God’s presence in such a special way. May we continue to learn, wonder, and walk faithfully with Christ each day.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” — Proverbs 22:6

Blessed to be part of such a loving church family.

What a blessing it was to worship together today at St. John’s–St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Day of Pentecost 🔥

A special thank you to Tar Draz for serving today and for leading us in worship with faith, grace, and devotion. Your ministry helped guide our hearts closer to God and reminded us of His abiding presence in our lives.

Thank you also to Marvin Griffin for delivering an inspiring and heartfelt sermon. Your message encouraged us to trust God’s plan, walk boldly in faith, and share Christ’s love with those around us.

Seventh Sunday of Easter

O God, the King of glory, you have exalted your only Son Jesus Christ with great triumph to your kingdom in heaven: Do not leave us comfortless, but send us your Holy Spirit to strengthen us, and exalt us to that place where our Savior Christ has gone before; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.

Thank you Fr. JoeandSandra Clift for your faithful service. May God bless you as richly as you have blessed our church family.

☀️ Morning prayer…..what a beautiful way to start the day.
Grateful hearts, lifted prayers, and the reminder that we are truly blessed. 💛

Jesus said, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?

Third Sunday of Easter

O God, whose blessed Son made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of bread: Open the eyes of our faith, that we may behold him in all his redeeming work; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Grateful hearts today❤️
Thank you, Fr. Jim Bullion for your faithful service in our church. Your message, your presence, and your dedication are truly a blessing to us all. May God continue to guide and strengthen you as you pour into others. We appreciate you more than words can say. ✝️❤️
