✨ The Hope God Gives — And What That Hope Does in Us ✨
Life can feel heavy, uncertain, and confusing… but God has given His children a hope that anchors the soul and gives life meaning, purpose, and direction.

🌅 1. God Gives Us Hope That Anchors Us
When everything around us shifts, God’s promises stand firm.

Hebrews 6:19 (KJV)
“Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast…”
His hope steadies us when storms rise and reminds us that we are held by a faithful God.

🌱 2. God Gives Us Hope That Gives Life Meaning
You are not wandering. You are not forgotten. God has a plan for you.

Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
His hope reminds us that our story is guided by His loving hand.

🔥 3. God Gives Us Hope That Fills Us With Purpose
Hope doesn’t just comfort us — it moves us. It calls us to live boldly for Christ.

1 Peter 1:3 (KJV)
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ… which hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
Because Jesus lives, we live with purpose, courage, and a mission.

🙌 Join us this Sunday at 11 AM
Come grow, worship, and find renewed hope in Christ.

✝️ TONIGHT’S BIBLE STUDY LESSON
“Faith That Moves… Doubt That Destroys”
⚠️ This will be a long, in‑depth study. Bring your Bible, your heart, and your hunger for the Word. ⚠️

Brothers and sisters, tonight at Beacon Baptist Church we’re diving deep into one of the most foundational truths of the Christian life: the power of faith and the danger of doubt. These two forces shape destinies, open or close doors, and determine whether we walk in victory or wander in defeat.

Tonight, we will explore three powerful examples of faith that moved mountains and three sobering examples of doubt that cost people dearly. We will look at the Scripture, the historical context, and the spiritual meaning behind each one.

Let’s begin.

✨ I. THE IMPORTANCE OF FAITH
Faith is not optional—it is essential. It is the currency of Heaven, the foundation of obedience, and the key that unlocks God’s promises.

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV):
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

This verse teaches two pillars of biblical faith:

Faith believes God IS — real, present, sovereign, active.

Faith believes God REWARDS — He responds, He moves, He honors trust.

Now let’s look at three expanded biblical examples where faith unleashed God’s power.

🌊 1. Moses and the Red Sea — Faith in the Face of the Impossible
Scripture
Exodus 14:13–14 (KJV):
“Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD… The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”

Historical Context
Israel had just escaped 430 years of slavery. They were unarmed, inexperienced, and terrified. Pharaoh’s chariots—elite, fast, deadly—were closing in. The Red Sea blocked their path. Mountains hemmed them in.

From a human standpoint, there was no way out.

Ancient Jewish writings describe the Red Sea region as a natural trap—steep cliffs, narrow passes, and deep waters. Israel was cornered.

Explanation of the Passage
Moses’ command—“stand still”—was not passivity. It was faith under pressure.
Faith stands still when fear screams “run.”
Faith looks up when circumstances look hopeless.

When Moses lifted his rod, God parted the waters. Some Jewish historians suggest the sea may have split into twelve paths, symbolizing God’s personal deliverance for each tribe.

Faith Lesson
Faith does not always remove the obstacle—
sometimes it splits it wide open.

🪨 2. David and Goliath — Faith That Remembers God’s Faithfulness
Scripture
1 Samuel 17:45 (KJV):
“I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts…”

Historical Context
Goliath was over nine feet tall, armored like a tank, and trained from youth. The Valley of Elah was a strategic military choke point—whoever won controlled the region.

David was a teenager, a shepherd, not a soldier. But shepherds were warriors in their own right—facing lions and bears with slings capable of deadly accuracy.

Explanation of the Passage
David’s faith was rooted in memory.
He remembered God’s past deliverance:

1 Samuel 17:37 (KJV):
“The LORD that delivered me… he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.”

Faith grows when we rehearse God’s victories.

Faith Lesson
Faith doesn’t see the size of the giant—
it sees the size of God.

🕊️ 3. The Woman With the Issue of Blood — Faith That Pushes Through Barriers
Scripture
Mark 5:34 (KJV):
“Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole…”

Historical Context
For twelve years she suffered. According to Levitical law, she was ceremonially unclean—isolated socially, spiritually, and physically. She had spent all she had on physicians.

In Jewish culture, touching a rabbi while unclean was unthinkable. Yet she pressed through the crowd, risking public shame and punishment.

Explanation of the Passage
Her faith was not in the garment—it was in the Person wearing it.
She believed Jesus was not just a healer—He was her healer.

Faith Lesson
Faith doesn’t need a spotlight—
it just needs a Savior.

⚠️ II. THE DANGER OF DOUBT
Doubt is not innocent. It is not harmless.
Doubt is the refusal to trust God after He has spoken.

Doubt blinds. Doubt steals. Doubt destroys.

Here are three expanded biblical examples of doubt and its consequences.

🚫 1. Israel Doubts God in the Wilderness — Doubt Delays Destiny
Scripture
Numbers 14:11 (KJV):
“How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me…”

Historical Context
Israel had seen miracle after miracle—ten plagues, the Red Sea, manna, quail, water from a rock, God’s visible presence in cloud and fire.

Yet when the spies reported giants in Canaan, Israel doubted. They cried to return to Egypt—back to chains.

Explanation of the Passage
Doubt makes us forget what God has done.
Doubt magnifies the enemy and minimizes God.

Because of their unbelief, that entire generation wandered 40 years and never entered the Promised Land.

Doubt Lesson
Doubt can make you die in the wilderness
when God intended you to live in victory.

🚫 2. Peter Sinks When He Doubts — Doubt Distracts
Scripture
Matthew 14:31 (KJV):
“O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?”

Historical Context
The Sea of Galilee is notorious for sudden storms caused by cold air rushing down from Mount Hermon. Even seasoned fishermen feared these storms.

Peter actually walked on water—something no other human besides Jesus has ever done.

Explanation of the Passage
Peter’s faith got him out of the boat.
His doubt pulled him under.

He shifted his focus from the Savior to the storm.

Doubt Lesson
Doubt doesn’t stop God from working—
it stops us from walking.

🚫 3. Thomas Doubts the Resurrection — Doubt Blinds
Scripture
John 20:27 (KJV):
“Be not faithless, but believing.”

Historical Context
Thomas had seen Jesus raise the dead, heal the sick, calm storms, and multiply food. He heard Jesus predict His resurrection.

Yet he refused to believe unless he touched the wounds.

Explanation of the Passage
Doubt often demands proof when God has already given promises.

Jesus graciously met Thomas where he was—but Thomas missed the joy the others had for an entire week.

Doubt Lesson
Doubt delays joy. Doubt steals peace.
Doubt blinds us to God’s presence.

🙌 CONCLUSION: Faith Opens… Doubt Closes
Faith opens the door to God’s promises.
Doubt closes it.
Faith moves mountains.
Doubt builds them.
Faith draws us near.
Doubt pushes us away.

Tonight, we unpack these truths, consider them, and apply them to our daily walk.

Everyone is welcome to comment on tonight’s Bible Study.
Stay hungry for the Word. Keep expecting God to speak.

✨ UPDATE: Beacon Baptist Church Gym Restoration ✨
https://gofund.me/7b0fc21c1

We are SO thankful for everyone who has donated so far — you are helping us move forward! 🙌 We’re getting quotes for repairs to the gutters, doors, roof, and more, but as you can see from the pics… we still have a long way to go.

More than 1,200 Southern Baptist churches have closed since 2022, but Beacon is still here because God has kept us and our people have been faithful. Now it’s time to rebuild what matters.

Our gym is too important to lose — it’s part of our mission to win souls, share the Gospel, and reach our youth. We want to restore it, add pickleball courts, host youth nights, reopen outreach programs, and make it a Beacon of hope again.

Right now we’re facing:
• Roof leaks
• Falling gutters
• Rusted, unsafe doors
• Floors needing major repair

But we believe:
“With God all things are possible.” — Matthew 19:26
“Let us rise up and build.” — Nehemiah 2:18

🙏 Please donate — every gift helps.
🙏 Please share — the more who know, the more can give.
🙏 Please pray — for our youth, our church, and this mission.

Let’s restore this gym for the next generation. Let’s give them a place to belong, grow, and be ministered to in Jesus’ name. ❤️

THE MEANING OF JUSTIFICATION
All things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
2 CORINTHIANS 5:18

The moment you are born again, you are justified in the sight of God. By being justified is meant "just-as-if-I’d” never sinned. Justification is that act of God whereby He declares an ungodly man to be perfect. God places you before Him as though you had never committed a sin.
Your sins have been forgiven. God has buried them in the depths of the sea and placed them behind His back of forgetfulness. Every sin is completely wiped out. You stand before God as a debtor, and you have received your dis-charge; you have become reconciled to God.
But more than all of that, you have been adopted into the family of God. You are now a child of God. You are now a member of the royal family of Heaven.
You have royal blood in your veins. You are a child of the King. Even your friends will begin to notice the change that has taken place in your life. You have now been born again.

For more than 60 years, faithful people have sacrificed, worked, gave and served to build and preserve Beacon Baptist Church. Because of their faithfulness, the doors are still open today.

But if we truly love Beacon Baptist Church, then we cannot only preserve its memory — we must preserve its future.

The Bible teaches us that we are caretakers of what God has entrusted to us. That includes not only the Gospel ministry of the church, but also the tools and places God has provided for that ministry to happen.

A church building is not just wood and concrete.
A fellowship hall is not just a room.
A gym is not just a gym.

These places represent opportunity:
• Opportunity to welcome families
• Opportunity to serve children and youth
• Opportunity for fellowship
• Opportunity for outreach
• Opportunity for future generations to know Christ

Neglect has never built the Kingdom of God.
Faithfulness does.

Mark 9:23 (KJV)
“If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”

Over the past several weeks, we have already seen signs of renewed life at Beacon Baptist Church:
❤️ Attendance increasing
❤️ Visitors returning
❤️ Fellowship growing
❤️ New Memberships
❤️ Volunteers stepping forward
❤️ Needed repairs beginning

God is reminding us that He is not finished with this church.

Psalm 127:1 says:
“Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it…”

We believe the Lord is building again at Beacon Baptist Church — not for ourselves, not for pride, but so there will still be a lighthouse for the Gospel in this community for generations to come.

Luke 1:37 (KJV)
“For with God nothing shall be impossible.”

Please continue praying, serving, encouraging one another and believing that with God, all things are possible. ✝️

🌸 A Mother’s Day Reflection at Beacon Baptist Church 🌸

This Sunday, we pause to honor one of God’s greatest gifts — mothers. As we reflect on the beautiful mosaic of Christ and His mother, Mary, we’re reminded that motherhood is formed through countless moments: love, sacrifice, patience, tears, joy, and unwavering faith.

Like a mosaic, every piece tells a story — and together, they reveal the grace of God shining through a mother’s heart.

A mother’s love is steady.
A mother’s love is shaping.
A mother’s love is forgiving — just as Christ calls us to forgive.

📖 “Forgive, and ye shall be forgiven.” — Luke 6:37 (KJV)

This Mother’s Day, may we honor the women who carried us, taught us, prayed for us, and forgave us more times than we can count. And may we extend that same forgiveness to others, reflecting the mercy Christ has shown us.

💐 Join us this Sunday at 11 AM for a special Mother’s Day service with visiting pastor Bill Copeland bringing the message. Bring your family and celebrate the love God shows through mothers.

✨ GoFundMe Update – Help Us Restore Beacon Baptist Church’s Gym ✨

We are humbled. We are grateful. And we see God at work!

To everyone who has already given — thank you. Because of your generosity and God’s goodness, we have already raised $5,300.00 toward restoring the Beacon Baptist Church gym. We are well on our way, but still have a journey ahead.

“With God all things are possible.” — Matthew 19:26
“All things are possible to him that believeth.” — Mark 9:23
“Ask, and it shall be given you…” — Matthew 7:7

These scriptures are not just words — we are watching them unfold before our eyes.

A Place Filled With Memories, Ministry, and Meaning

Our gym was once a lively center of fellowship and youth outreach.
Wednesday nights were full of energy — the RA Boys, faithfully taught by Mr. Bobby Bamford, filled the gym with laughter and learning. Inside, the GA Girls studied God’s Word before joining in the activities.

Many a heated basketball game took place within these walls hosted by Phil King — but more importantly, many hearts were reached, many seeds were planted, and many young people found a place to belong.

This gym has always been more than a building.
It has been a ministry, a mission field, and a Beacon of Hope.

A Call to Renew God’s House
Scripture reminds us:

“Let the children come unto Me…” — Mark 10:14

“My house shall be called the house of prayer.” — Matthew 21:13

A church renews itself through young people — through giving them a place to grow, to be mentored, to be loved, and to encounter Jesus.
Restoring this gym is part of renewing our church for the next generation.

We want to see God’s house shine again.
We want this gym to become the Beacon of Hope it was always meant to be.

We Need You
We are thankful for every dollar given — but we are still shy of our goal.
Now we ask everyone to look into their hearts and prayerfully consider:

What are today’s youth worth?
Can you give to that cause?
Will you?
Will you give to God and serve like Jesus?

Every gift — large or small — moves us closer to reopening a place where young people can be reached, loved, and discipled.

From the bottom of our hearts:
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Let’s finish this together.
Let’s restore the gym.
Let’s restore hope.

🙌✨ I Took a DNA Test… and GOD Is My Father! ✨🙌
In a world full of identity tests, personality tests, and ancestry searches, there’s one truth that settles it all:

If you are in Christ — GOD is your Father.
Not by accident. Not by chance.
By adoption, by grace, and by the blood of Jesus Christ.

✝️ Supporting Scripture (KJV)
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” — John 1:12

“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.” — Romans 8:16

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.” — 1 John 3:1

Your true identity isn’t found in a lab report —
It’s found in the love of the Father, the work of the Son, and the witness of the Spirit.

✝️✨ Why Faith Is So Powerful ✨✝️
Faith is more than belief — it is the power that moves the heart of God, strengthens His people, and carries us through every season of life. Scripture shows us again and again that faith changes everything.

📖
1️⃣ Faith Gives Us Strength When We Have None
Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Isaiah spoke these words to a weary Israel, reminding them that God never abandons His people. When we trust Him, He renews us — not by removing the struggle, but by giving us strength to rise above it.

2️⃣ Faith Makes the Impossible Possible
Matthew 17:20 (KJV)
“If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”

Jesus used the smallest known seed to show that even a little faith, when placed in a limitless God, unleashes His power in our lives. Faith doesn’t depend on our size — it depends on His strength.

3️⃣ Faith Brings Us Into God’s Peace
Romans 5:1 (KJV)
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Paul reminds believers that faith is the doorway to peace — not the peace the world gives, but the deep, soul‑settling peace that comes from being made right with God through Christ.
