New Years, Authenticity and Truth

Some people make New Years Resolutions, some people don’t. Mary Hester will examine why people do this. Does it make a difference? Should we do this? No answers—let’s just explore this.

We meet at 10:30 am, 330 San Juan Avenue in Alamosa. Hope to see you there.

Peace and best wishes,

We welcome special guest, singer and song writer, Steve Brooks, a UU from Austin, TX. He will present, “True West: A Multicultural Mythology.”

True West: A Multicultural Mythology. In books, movies and songs, the archetypes of the cowboy and the frontier have shaped American values like rugged individualism. In recent years, though, historians have revealed a more inclusive West, not centered on heroic white men. Austin UU speaker and singer Steve Brooks explores how a multicultural West might rewrite our values, including our UU values, and give us a richer picture of the cowboy.

Join us at 330 San Juan Avenue, north entrance, at 10:30 am.

May we have joy this Easter, a joy born of life well lived;
May we have love this Easter, a love stronger than death,
Bringing healing and new growth to our lives;
And may we have peace this Easter, peace that allows us
To be open to the newness of the season
And gives us reason to sing.
