Help Complete CAMC's Hope Harvest Greenhouse Today!

Friends Across the Southeastern Jurisdiction and the Kentucky Annual Conference,

Grace and peace to you from your Central Appalachian Missionary Conference.

Today, we write to you with an urgent need. As many of you know, our Hope Harvest Initiative has become a lifeline in Eastern Kentucky, addressing the immediate food insecurity crisis facing our neighbors. Families across our region depend on this ministry for nourishment, sustainability, and hope.

This fall, the Hope Harvest Greenhouse will be essential in expanding our food distribution and garden projects, but only if it is completed in time. Right now, the structure stands unfinished, and we cannot meet our fall planting goals without your help.

We are asking churches in the Southeastern Jurisdiction and the Kentucky Annual Conference to prayerfully consider sending work teams to Big Creek, Kentucky, to help us finish construction on the Hope Harvest Greenhouse. Your time and hands-on service will directly ensure that families have fresh food this winter and that our mission continues to grow.

How you can help:

- Gather a team from your church or district to volunteer on-site in Big Creek.

- Coordinate with us on scheduling work days between now and the start of fall planting.

- Share this urgent request with your mission leaders, UMVIM teams, and congregations.

This is more than a building project. It is about equipping the body of Christ to serve in one of the most impoverished regions of our nation. Completing this greenhouse means immediate relief for families facing hunger, as well as long-term sustainability for our mission and ministries.

We hope you will stand with us in this urgent moment.
👉Please send us an email to [email protected] to schedule your team or learn more about specific needs and dates.

Thank you for the many ways you continue to serve and support mission across our connection. Together, we can ensure that the Hope Harvest Greenhouse becomes a place where God’s love grows in abundance.

With blessings,

Development and Conference Relations Team
Central Appalachian Missionary Conference
