Take a look at what happened throughout the summer at Alamo FBC! 👀

We thank God for the many opportunities that we have had to share the Gospel, be the hands and feet of Jesus, and support our local community, all while having a blast at every moment.

It was a joy to support the ministry of Legacy Outdoor Ministries, serve meals for local families alongside Wheeler County Public Library, host our Summer Bash, and get our hands dirty at a church cleaning day.

Our mission is to be a Christ-centered church that seeks God, serves God, and grows God's Kingdom. Come see what God is doing at Alamo FBC!

Alamo First Baptist Church, alongside Glennwood First Baptist Church and Sardis Baptist Church, had the honor yesterday of welcoming Pastor Kent Woodfin and his wife, Elizabeth, for an update on their church plant in Pinedale, Wyoming, at Rendezvous Church.

As familiar faces to our community, it was a joy to hear how God has worked in Kent and Elizabeth's lives and how they are making an impact for the Kingdom.

Answering God's call, Kent and Elizabeth moved to Pinedale, Wyoming to plant a church in an area that lacked a strong Gospel presence. By being a community presence, displaying the love of Christ, and sharing the Gospel, Rendezvous Church was planted and is now growing, with many memebers being new believers.

Kent shared about one family they developed a close friendship with, which eventually led to many hours of conversations about faith, Christianity, and the Gospel. Looking back on that relationship, he said, "I knew God put them in our lives to lead them to Christ."

Elizabeth also shared the importance of remaining steadfast in fulfilling a Christian's call to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18–20), speaking of one family, she said, “They began to see it [the Gospel], not just us telling it to them.”

We praise God for the Woodfin family's faithful obedience. Join us as we pray for the continued advancement of the Gospel through Rendezvous Church in Pinedale, Wyoming.

This weekend, Alamo First Baptist Church had the privilege of hosting Coach Melvin Sweat, former Wheeler County basketball coach. Our community enjoyed a wonderful time of worship and testimony that showcased the transformative power of Jesus Christ.

As a basketball coach, Coach Sweat impacted hundreds of students. After coming to faith in Christ, his impact extended beyond coaching and shifted to being a representative of Christ, sharing the good news of the free gift of grace offered through the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.

Coach Sweat encouraged the audience, quoting, "Every child is one caring adult away from a success story." He emphasized the importance of those who know Christ to prioritize sharing their faith, because the world must know that accepting Christ is the greatest decision they could ever make.

Meet our Pastor, Thomas Rhodes, and his wife, Sydney!

A native of Longpond, GA, Thomas Rhodes serves as the Senior Pastor of Alamo First Baptist Church. He and his wife, Sydney, are college sweethearts and are excited to serve the people of Alamo FBC and the surrounding community.

Thomas is a graduate of Brewton-Parker Christian University and Temple Baptist Theological Seminary. Sydney works at Brewton-Parker Christian University and freelances in church branding and marketing. Outside of church, Thomas and Sydney love hiking and going to the beach. Thomas is an avid reader and considers himself a coffee connoisseur.

We are excited to have Thomas and Sydney at Alamo FBC and are looking forward to all God has in store in this next season.
