"A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones " Proverbs 17:22
The Stewart Methodist ladies and friends received a good dose of medicine at our monthly gathering on Sunday, May 31st, which was a focus on games.
Hostesses were Joann Drapo, Janet Stegall, and Gina Mills.
Gina welcomed the group, opened with prayer, and facilitated icebreaker questions to kick off the fun.
These were very thought provoking such as:
* If Jesus joined you for breakfast, what would you discuss?
* If you had to give up one luxury to draw closer to God, what would it be?
* If all your fears were removed, what is something you'd like to do?
This discussion was followed by " Name that Tune." Sara Cobb graciously played a variety of various tunes for everyone to identify. Of course, we had an impromptu sing-a-long! We are so thankful for Sara's musical gift!
JoAnne Drapo led the group in a devotion and prayer. This proved to be very encouraging with a focus on God's love and friendship.
Janet Stegall requested prayer updates and requests. She made announcements, and offered a prayer and blessing. This was followed by a nice spread of delicious refreshments.
Once everyone was stuffed with plenty of carbs and caffeine, it was "Friend Feud" time! This active game proved to be a keeper with lots of laughter and discussion!
We departed with smiles on our faces, and joy in our hearts from our dose of medicine!
Thanks be to God for the blessing of sisters in Christ!
