A special thank you to the The JADFA House, Just A Dad From Akron, and Prodigal Young Adult Ministry for bringing this event to life and creating space for our community to connect and grow in faith.

Investing in our youth starts with understanding how to support them! 💚
Our Executive Director, Kemp Boyd, recently had the opportunity to lead a Youth Mental Health First Aid training for the Child and Family Leadership Exchange at East End. Conversations and trainings like these help equip community leaders with the tools to recognize, understand, and respond to the mental health needs of young people.
Together, we're building a community where our youth feel seen, heard, and supported!

Today, we honor Indigenous Peoples’ Day by recognizing the rich histories, cultures, and lasting contributions of Indigenous communities, including those whose roots are deeply connected to Northeast Ohio.

At Love Akron, we believe building a stronger, more connected city begins with understanding our history, valuing every voice, and respecting the people and cultures that have shaped our communities.

When we take the time to learn from one another, we create a city where everyone has a place and every story matters.

Last month, some of our young leaders from Love Akron’s Locker Room Experience had the opportunity to attend the 2026 Youth Hope Initiative, championed by Alliance for Healthy Youth

The event brought together students from across Summit County for important conversations about mental health, wellness, and the resources available to support individuals and families in our community.

One of the highlights was hearing from NBA champion Kevin Love, who openly shared his personal mental health journey and reminded students that asking for help is a sign of strength.

At Love Akron, we believe investing in our youth means creating opportunities for them to grow, connect, and have conversations that matter. We’re grateful our young leaders had the opportunity to be part of this experience!

What an incredible afternoon of celebration, gratitude, and community at Tuesday’s Love Akron Awards Luncheon.

Once again, we want to recognize our incredible Servant Leader Award recipient, along with all of our Changemaker and Allies Award winners. Thank you for the many ways you lead, serve, and make a lasting impact throughout Greater Akron.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to our wonderful Board Members, the entire Love Akron team, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this luncheon possible. So much time, energy, and heart went into bringing this special event together.

We’re grateful for every person who continues to show up, serve well, build relationships, and help make our city stronger.

In recognition of National Bullying Prevention Month, our October prayer focus is Every Student Belongs.

We created 31 daily prayers to help our community pray for safe and supportive schools, students experiencing bullying, teachers and staff, young people carrying hidden struggles and the relationships that remind every student:
