Together and individually, we work to fulfill our mission as a congregation. We work in Christian fellowship and with social institution

s in a caring ministry of love. In order to develop the individual ministries, we will remain flexible and open to meet the changing needs of the Church, the community and the world. Sometimes the hardest thing we are called to do is forgive.

In Genesis 50:15-21, Joseph had every reason to seek revenge against his brothers. Instead, he chose mercy. He trusted that God could bring good even from the pain and harm he had experienced.

Joseph reminds us that forgiveness does not mean pretending the hurt never happened. It means refusing to let hurt have the final word. With God’s help, grace can overcome bitterness, hope can rise from hardship, and love can lead us forward.

Whatever you may be carrying today, may you find the courage to release it into God’s hands. 💛🙏

“You intended to do harm to me, but God intended it for good.” — Genesis 50:20

Happy Labor Day!

Today, we give thanks for the work of hands and hearts that helps build our communities and care for our neighbors. Whether your work takes place in an office, a classroom, a home, a church, a factory, or wherever you serve others, your gifts and efforts matter.

May this Labor Day be a time for rest, renewal, and gratitude. As people of faith, we remember that God calls us not only to work, but also to care for one another and find time for Sabbath and rest.

Wishing everyone a safe, peaceful, and blessed Labor Day! ❤️💙

Today is the Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost!

Conflict is a part of relationships and life in community. Jesus’ words in today's gospel are often used in situations having to do with church discipline. The prophet Ezekiel tells of warning the wicked to turn from their ways, and Paul reminds us that love is the fulfilling of the law. We gather in the name of Christ, assured that he is present among us with gifts of peace and reconciliation. Join us this morning at 10 a.m. in person at 50 N. Prospect Street, Akron or online at holytrinityakron.org.

The September Love Offering will help support ELCA Lutheran Disaster Response.

As disasters and humanitarian crises continue to affect communities around the world, Lutheran Disaster Response (LDR) brings hope, healing and practical support to people whose lives have been disrupted. Through partnerships with local communities and organizations, LDR responds not only in the immediate aftermath of disasters but also walks alongside survivors through long-term recovery, helping communities rebuild with dignity, strength and hope.

You may give online at holytrinityakron.org/give. Thank you for your continued generosity!

When church people refer to “Matthew 18,” it is the gospel for this Sunday that they are thinking of, with its advice about how Christians are to deal with controversies within the believing community. The good news in the reading is especially the last line: that Christ is among us always. Come to receive Christ’s gift of himself in word, sacrament, and community ... 10 a.m. in person at 50 N. Prospect Street, Akron or online at holytrinityakron.org.

When relationships become difficult, Jesus calls us not to turn away from one another, but to move toward one another—with honesty, grace, and love.

Matthew 18:15-20 reminds us that reconciliation matters. Listening matters. Community matters. And through it all, Christ promises something beautiful: “For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.”

Even in challenging conversations, even in moments of disagreement, Jesus is present—guiding us toward healing, forgiveness, and restored relationships. May we be people who seek peace, speak with love, and remember that we never walk alone. ❤️✝️
