The SJ March 2, 1947 bulletin. Loads of information about the church: seems like they were always just under their goals. The mid-week Lenten service attendance was 234! Goal 250. The Sunday School attendance was 305! Goal 325. The Youth Service attendance was 354! Goal 400. Also many names and much info regarding committees and their missions. It would take a certain amount of resolve not to veer off the sermon in favor of reading the bulletin!

Wow! Look at the church on Palm Sunday, Confirmation Day, 1941. It looks as though some people made a big effort to see around the big hats and heads of the people in front of them. I (Tim Keeler) found some of them in this picture and took a zoomed-in shot of them from the picture. See If you can find them in the big picture. There are a boy, a girl, a boy and a girl, Martha's mother (Marie Dillman) and her mother (Martha Dillman) before Marie married Gene Marsh, my great-grandmother (Clara Wagoner), and even my mother (Norma Kimble Keeler). Remember, if you can't see the camera, the camera can't see you! Zoom in on the 2 pictures in the comment section below for a closer look at the left side and the right side.

How about a sleigh ride? That's what the Youth group of St. John's carried out in February 1901. The destination was the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Shook, located across Cormany Rd. from the present Coventry Elementary School. The Resurrection window that now faces the Faith Lutheran Courtyard was given in memory of this, my great, great grandfather, George Shook. The menu that night was oysters! I see my grandmother, Elsie Wagoner, was also present. Things were a little different back in 1901! -Tim Keeler.
