Jesus Speaks With Authority Today

The crowds heard Him then. We hear Him now. His Word isn’t suggestions from a teacher. It’s commands from the King. Start your Tuesday under His authority.

Scribes Quote Opinions. Jesus Declares Truth

Scribes said “Rabbi so-and-so says…” Jesus said “I say unto you.” When Tuesday throws chaos, comparison, or fear at you, remember who has the final word. He does.

His Authority Brings Astonishment, Not Anxiety

They were astonished at His doctrine, not crushed by it. His authority doesn’t bind you. It frees you. What He says, He empowers you to live.

Today’s Challenge
This Tuesday, listen to the Voice with authority before you listen to the noise. The One who preached the Sermon on the Mount is speaking over your life. And He’s for you.

Good morning everyone.
I need to say this.
Multiple people have called me and or texted me to see how Im doing…. to ask if Im ok. They want to know if Im sad about something or depressed. They are asking because they havent “ seen me on Facebook”.

Let me clear this up.

I assure you that I am not sad or depressed. I am having the time of my life.
I made the choice during the Memorial Day holiday to stop giving my time and energy to social media and start giving it to my family and close friends.
I no longer live with a phone in my hands.

Its the greatest thing Ive done for myself in a long time.
I am actually enjoying my waking hours and making memories with actual people and not mindlessly scrolling post after post.

All the negativity from social media is out of my mind and you know what im finding?

Life is really pretty good.

Its amazing what “ disconnecting” can do for your life.
So…. Im ok.
Im happy.
Im blessed.
I am fishing and swimming and cooking out and doing the things I enjoy.
I am making memories with my family and stopping by in person to actually see and talk to close friends.

1 Peter 3:11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

Theres an old steam locomotive coming through Argos today.
Im gonna see THAT! 🙂

You wanna talk…. See me there. Stop in at the Log House …. grab a sweet tea…. and meet me at the train tracks.
Cause you wont see me here behind my phone wasting my time.

I love starting my day with prayer and the bible.
Especially when I am reading from the gospels because Jesus is in the stories.
Sometimes life tells you that its all over… that theres no hope.
But when Jesus is in the story…. there is (Always Hope.)
So put Jesus in your story today.
There’s Always Hope for you my friends.

This morning, as I take my prayer walk, I was given one word
Simplicity
Just a simple connection between my God and me

Lately simple is a word that has been buried deep in my vocabulary

Life has been far from simple
Complicated as taken dominance

But as I walk around this hotel in George
With a simple cup of coffee and some simple quiet
I heard the word simplicity

Just a simple connection between my God and myself

Why do we have to complicate the gospel?
Why do we feel like we have to have 45 minutes worth of worship music before we can praise?
Why do we feel like all of our ducks need to be in a row before we can spend time with the savior?

The gospel is very simple
Believe on the Lord, Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved.

Micah speaks of a simple walk with the Lord

It really helps to drown out the noise
To set schedules aside
Busy will always be there, but you have to make a point to connect
So connect…..
Take a minute to hear God’s voice
Take a minute to see God’s face

Don’t forfeit another moment of peace
Father God bless us today with a simple connection in a simple friendship to you and with others who love us and who we love
