A big thank you to the Akron Fire Department for visiting our preschool and kindergarten students for a special fire safety lesson! 🧯🚒

Our students learned important things of what to do in an emergency and had the chance to explore the fire truck. We are grateful for the firefighters who took the time to teach and encourage our youngest Terriers!

🌿 Faith + Science in the Great Outdoors! 🌿

Our sixth graders recently traveled to Camp Damascus for a retreat focused on learning and growing closer to their classmates and Jesus.

Through hands-on lessons across 471 acres of forests, fields, and ponds, students explored the natural world while discovering how creation can lead us to know and encounter God. The retreat connected science and faith, helping students see that Jesus Christ restores what was wounded by the Fall and that caring for God’s creation is part of our call as Christians.

We are so excited to be able to offer these opportunities to learn, explore, and grow closer to Christ! 🌎✝️

Today we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals! 🐾

In honor of his feast day, our students took part in our annual Pet Blessing last week, bringing in photos of their beloved pets. Dogs, cats, hamsters and even chickens were represented!

Fr. Valencheck offered a special blessing for our pets as we gave thanks for the joy, companionship and love our animals bring to our families. St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us! 💚💛

The tips are in, and these teachers are officially the GOATs! 🐐🏅

Congratulations to our Celebrity Night top tip earners: Mrs. Burns, Mrs. DeKatch, Mrs. Reese, and Ms. Heffern! They earned some well-deserved GOAT medals and, of course, bragging rights!

Even better, Celebrity Night raised more than $5,000 for our Teacher Wellness & Appreciation Fund! Thank you to everyone who came out, filled the tip jars, and showed so much love for our incredible teachers and staff. We are so grateful for the support of our St. Sebastian community! 💚💛

Our fourth graders put their faith into action through a special service project with the Good Samaritan Hunger Center! 💚💛

Students packed an incredible 580 “Buckeye Bags” filled with meals and snacks to serve children and families experiencing food insecurity throughout the Akron area.

We are so proud of our students for living out our mission of Christian service, showing compassion for others, and making a meaningful difference right here in our community.

🍂 Leaf-ing no detail unnoticed! 🍁

Our first graders put their science skills to work during a hands-on Leaf Lab as part of their fall science unit! They observed, measured, compared, and investigated different leaves, using their growing scientist skills to take a closer look at the signs of the season.

Fall science is in full swing! 🍃🔍

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our Celebrity Bartender Night! ✨

Nights like these remind us of what makes St. Sebastian so special: our community. From our amazing teachers and staff behind the bar to our Booster Club and priests, it was wonderful to see parents, alumni, parishioners, school families, and friends come together for a great night supporting our teachers.

A special thank you to our friends at Barrelhouse for their amazing hospitality and support!

There is still time to donate to our Teacher Wellness & Appreciation Fund and help your favorite celebrity bartender earn bragging rights! Venmo -Socials and include the name of your favorite teacher or staff member in the memo line.

Thank you for continuing to show up for our teachers, our school, and one another. This is what makes the St. Sebastian community so special! 💛💚
