100 Stories for 100 Years | Story #15
Minister Deacon Leo Armstrong — A Bellows Street Kid

Leo was just 4 years old when he began making memories at United Baptist Church on Bellows Street. His family lived right behind the church, so United was truly part of his childhood.
From running around the church basement—and getting reported to his mother by the church mothers! 😂—to the Sunshine Band, Boy Scout Troop 84, and Junior Choir, Leo grew up at United.
Most importantly, at 11 years old, he accepted Christ—and as Leo says, “the rest is history.”
From a Bellows Street Kid to a lifetime of faith and service…
He was there. And he’s still United.
