The God of Hope by Dr. John W. Felton

"I Know that my Redeemer Lives...." (Job 19:25) are words spoken by Job during a challenging time in his life. He had lost everything, but he never lost hope and he never stop trusting in God even when he did not know or understand why he was suffering such catastrophic losses. However, Job's resilience is a profound testimony that just because we fall from the mountain top is not a reason to allow our losses and circumstances to diminish our trust and hope in God our Father.

Job's determination and unfaltering faith should motivate us to stay in constant communication with God through the avenue of prayer. Therefore, we should pray to the God of hope not for easy answers, not for quick fixes, but that we are filled, from the inside with joy and peace. And right in the middle of our trails, right in the middle of the questions, and right in the middle of the waiting, we should pray by the power of the Holy Spirit that we will overflow with enough hope that spills out of us into the lives of the people around us in order that they can see if our faith is real when life falls apart.

Job lost everything and yet, he found that his Redeemer was still alive and still enough. So, whatever ash heap you are sitting in right now, hear this: your Redeemer lives too. And the God of hope is not finished with your story.

Does the Holy Spirit Dwell in the Christian? by Bob Oliver

Before answering this question, I would like to pose another question. How do you dwell within you? We all know we have a spirit, but where is it? How do you dwell within you? When we speak of the physical, we can speak with knowledge for we are physical. But we also have a spiritual side. In fact, the real YOU is spiritual. You are an eternal soul, or spirit. You will always exist. But we must take everything we know about the spiritual side by faith. We believe in God by faith. We believe in heaven by faith. We believe in hell by faith. We even believe in Jesus by faith. None of these have we experienced physically. Therefore, we believe these things, even though we have an eternal soul by faith. As someone has said, "God said it, that makes it so, and I believe it."

When we ask how the Holy Spirit dwells within us, we need to remember the only way we can know by faith if He does dwell within us, is if the Bible tells us that he does. Consider the following passage: 1 Corinthians 3:16 reads, "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" It, therefore, is not a question of IF the Holy Spirit dwells within the Christian, it is HOW He dwells within us. God has not revealed to us the HOW of the indwelling. Again, we do not even know HOW we dwell within ourselves. So, in answering this question, yes, the Holy Spirit does dwell within the Christian.
