WHERE FOCUS GOES, ENERGY FLOWS!!
AND WHERE ENERGY FLOWS, WHATEVER YOU'RE FOCUSING ON GROWS.
IN OTHER WORDS, YOUR LIFE IS CONTROLLED BY WHAT YOU FOCUS ON.
THAT'S WHY YOU NEED TO FOCUS ON WHERE YOU WANT TO GO, NOT ON WHAT YOU FEAR.
I've been pondering the last while on the fact of how we tend to focus on the fear that stands between us and our ultimate goal.
Why would we focus on the fear instead of the goal? I see this playing out in every aspect of life -
SPIRITUALLY- There seems to be a tendency to focus on running away from hell rather than enjoying a relationship with Jesus and a focus on deepening that relationship.
EMOTIONALLY - We focus on the present pain we need to endure, to process our past pain. Instead of focusing on the absolute joy and freedom, that we get to experience in a lifestyle that is authentic and real.
MENTALLY - We tend to spend time thinking about all the things that could go wrong on the journey to our goal instead of focusing on the goal.
PHYSICALLY - We focus on the fear of not being able to get as fit as we'd like to be or we focus on the pain that we have to put our physical bodies through, to get physically fit.
IN BUSINESS - We focus on the fear of not getting a consistent 40 hr week paycheck, that we've depended on for so long, which keeps us from becoming an entrepreneur.
IN RELATIONSHIPS - We tend to focus on all the hard conversations and confrontations that need to be navigated to have great relationships instead the benefits of great friends and a strong community.
We might not find ourselves in all of those but I'm pretty sure if we're honest with ourselves, we'll find at least a tendency in one of these areas that is keeping us from moving forward and growing the way God desires us to.
