Christ's Way Christian Church

Christ's Way Christian Church Followers of Jesus In the beginning, God created humanity to experience the fullness of His fellowship. Disobedience separated us from His fellowship.

But unfortunately, the first family broke fellowship with God by disobeying His will. From that moment in time, all relationships have suffered alienation; an alienation that has continued through the ages and would continue into eternity except that God has intervened. He provided a way to reconcile us to Himself and renew our relationships through faith in the one He sent to provide both the means and the model of reconciliation. His name is Jesus we exist to follow him

Today's Prayer

Dear Father God,
Thank You for the strength You give to me each day...
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

Thank You my Lord Jesus for Your gift of salvation which You freely offer to me...
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23

Whenever I face temptations, I will overcome with Your strength and salvation

Because of this, I can build my life upon the Words of Jesus and lean upon You, the solid rock of my life...
Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
Matthew 7:24-25

Jesus is my perfect example of overcoming Satan’s temptations when He quoted Scriptures and did not fall into sin...
Matthew 4:1-11
Please open my eyes, my ears, and my heart to Your Words and Your promptings today.
With thanksgiving I pray, in the all-powerful name of Jesus,
Amen.

I Am With You Always

Matthew 28:18–20

“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations... And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’”

Jesus sends us out with a mission—to make disciples, baptize, and teach. But He surrounds that mission with two powerful assurances: He has all authority, and He is always with us.

Wherever He sends us, we never go alone.

Prayer:
Lord, give me courage to go where You send me, knowing that Your presence goes with me. Amen.

Challenge:
Look for ONE OPORTUNITY today to point someone toward Jesus—and remember, He is right there with you.

The Continuing Trial-N-Testimony of Jesus
Evidence of His Empowerment – Message #1
Acts 1-2

1. Jesus made claims concerning his identity that require one of three conclusions: either He was a deceitful liar, a raving lunatic. or the Lord and Savior of humanity. Why are three choices our only valid options? Why not simply accept Jesus as a good teacher who pointed people to God?

2. How and why did the empowerment of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost change how the apostles saw Jesus? Acts 1:6-8

3. How does the fulfillment of messianic prophecies compel belief in Jesus as God in the flesh and savior of humanity?
1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Psalm 22, 16:10, Isaiah 53:5-11, 9:6-7.

4. Dr. Luke reports that on the Day of Pentecost, after receiving the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, the 12 apostles spoke in different languages so that each person could hear the gospel in their own language (Acts 2:6-11). Why did this event convince over 3000 to place their faith in Jesus?

5. The people in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost were from over 10 different nations. When those who had accepted Jesus as Lord went back home, they spread the name of Jesus. What was the result? How does that relate to us?

6. One take away from this message for me was….

Warm Up for Sunday: Jesus made claims concerning his identity that, if not true, would lead one to believe that he was either a deceitful liar or a raving lunatic. However, the apostles and early disciples obviously believed that Jesus was who he claimed to be as evidenced by their willingness to die for Jesus. They believed that He was, in fact, the Son of God and Savior of humanity and not just a redeemer of Israel. However, that belief didn’t solidify until they were empowered by the Holy Spirit to recognize Jesus as God in the flesh who would pay the penalty of human sin as predicted by numerous messianic prophecies. Join us this Sunday as we explore how the apostles went from hiding in an upper room to boldly proclaiming Jesus from their roof top. Perhaps, their dynamic change will inspire our own.

Today's Prayer

Dear Mighty God,
Let Your Holy Spirit pour Your rain upon my dry and thirsty soul...
Let us know,
Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord.
His going forth is established as the morning;
He will come to us like the rain,
Like the latter and former rain to the earth.
Hosea 6:3

Please flood my dry soul with Your refreshing presence, I am thirsty for more of You, for me and for my family...
For I will pour water upon him who is thirsty,
and floods upon dry ground:
I will pour my spirit upon thy seed,
and my blessings upon thine offspring.
Isaiah 44:3

Please guide my every step today.
Thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit to help me to live as You desire.
Please give wisdom to my mind, nourishment to my soul, strength to my body and peace to my spirit.
I praise You for the refreshing of Your Holy Spirit which brings floods upon the dry ground.
Please pour out Your Holy Spirit and flood my soul so that I will be refreshed and full of life to do Your will today.
In the refreshing name of Jesus I come to You in prayer,
Amen.

Daily Meditation — August 31, 2026
The Family of God

Ephesians 2:19
“Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household...”

God never intended the Christian life to be lived alone. In Christ, strangers become family. We come from different places, different backgrounds, and different experiences, yet we share the same Father and have a place in the same household.

The church is more than a gathering we attend. It is a family to which we belong.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for welcoming me into Your household. Help me to love and care for my brothers and sisters as members of one family in Christ. Amen.

Challenge:
Today, encourage someone in your church family and remind them—by word or deed—that they belong.

The Continuing Trial
and Testimony of Jesus
A TNT Series Introduction

1. If you were called to the stand as an eye witness for the defense of Jesus, what would you use as your main line of defense? Would it be how your life has been changed, the fellowship you experience, the evidence of miracles, prophecies fulfilled, or what?

2. In what sense is Jesus still on trial?

3. In what sense are we to give testimony to the defense of the gospel? 1 Peter 3:15, Philippians 1:16

Warm Up for Sunday: In any jury trial, evidence is presented by both the prosecution and defense attorneys to build a case that validates their claims. The trial and testimony concerning Jesus of Nazareth formally began the night of His arrest but continues on as His witnesses are brought to trial throughout the book of Acts. In fact, eye witness testimony continues to this day as we continue to testify to what we have seen and heard. This series will take us, the jury, through the book of Acts in 12 weeks. Our goal isn’t to conduct an expository sermon series covering all 28 chapters, but to compile thematic evidence, as presented by Dr. Luke, for the defense of the gospel, a defense we are all called to make for the cause of Christ.
