On yesterday, our Second Baptist Church Men’s Ministry had the privilege of partnering with Millbrook Elementary School to help lead their first All Pro Dad meeting, and what a morning it was!

More than 357 students, fathers, father figures, and family members gathered for a morning centered around presence, encouragement, family, and the importance of men showing up in the lives of our children.

This is ministry beyond the walls. This is partnership. This is Second Baptist serving our community. 🙏🏾💪🏾

Today, our congregation officially welcomed Rev. Anthony Kelly to our ministerial team.

During worship, we had the privilege of presenting him with his new minister's license and ordination certificate. Rev. Kelly joined Second Baptist under the leadership of Rev. Speller and has been a tremendous asset to our church family. We thank God for his faithful service and look forward to all that God will continue to do through his ministry. When you see Rev. Kelly, be sure to congratulate him and celebrate this well-deserved milestone!

Second Baptist Church is showing up and representing in a major way at the NAACP National Convention in Chicago!

We are incredibly proud of our members who are present, learning, networking, and standing in spaces where faith, justice, advocacy, and community come together. Your presence is a reminder that the Church has always had a voice beyond the sanctuary and a responsibility to help shape the communities we serve. The Second Baptist Church Men's Ministry was blessed to host our inaugural 2026 Men's Summer Summit, and what a day it was! Our Brothers gathered in fellowship, worship, have honest conversations, and encouragement as we challenged one another to become stronger Men of God, both in our homes and in our communities.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to our guest lecturer, Rev. Dr. Thurmond Bowens, Jr., Senior Pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Columbia, SC., for pouring into us with wisdom, authenticity, and conviction. We are especially grateful, as he also serves as Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Howard's Father in Ministry. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the men of Trinity Baptist Church for traveling to fellowship with us and helping make our very first summit such a meaningful experience.

Brothers, we'd love to have you join us every 2nd Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Upper Room on the Second Baptist Church campus.

The brotherhood grows.

Today, Second Baptist Christian Church of Aiken celebrated our JAM Carnival and Back-to-School event! We were blessed to send more than 400 students back to school with the supplies they need and spiritual encouragement as they begin a new school year.

Thank you to everyone who supported this event, volunteered, donated, attended, and prayed. Your generosity and love helped make this a fun, meaningful, and successful day for our students and their families.

We pray God's blessings, protection, wisdom, and favor over every student, teacher, and school staff member as they embark on this new school year. Have a safe and successful school year!
