Over the past several years, God has been writing a story of transformation at Aiken Ebenezer Nazarene. Lives have been changed, disciples have been made, and we’ve continued to pray that God would expand His Kingdom through us. Today, we’re thrilled to announce the next chapter of that story.

In 2027, we will launch Saluda Ebenezer, a new location of Ebenezer Church of the Nazarene in Saluda, South Carolina!

We are grateful that our Compassionate Outreach Pastors, Rev. Richard Dakin and Rev. Terri Dakin have answered God’s call to serve as the Planters and Pastors for this new location. Their love for people, passion for discipleship, and heart for the community make them the right leaders for this exciting new work.

Over the coming months, we will begin building relationships in Saluda through community outreach, our Convoy of Hope partnership, Alpha Groups, and intentional discipleship opportunities as we prepare for launch.

The launch of Saluda Ebenezer will mark the beginning of the Ebenezer Multiplication Network, as we seek to foster a new wave of church multiplication! This isn’t just about opening another church location. It’s about making room for more people to encounter Jesus, embrace community, and experience the transforming love of God.

Please join us in praying for Richard and Terri, for the people of Saluda, and for all that God has planned in the days ahead.

“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun!” (Isaiah 43:19a)

Pentecost was never meant to be a moment we remember once a year; it was meant to form a people who live differently every day.

In Acts 2:42–47, we see what happened after the fire fell: the church devoted themselves to the Word, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. The Holy Spirit did not simply create excitement; The Spirit created a devoted, generous, joyful, Spirit-filled community.

Our challenge: Don’t waste the fire.

Let the Spirit make you hungry for God’s Word.
Let the Spirit draw you deeper into community.
Let the Spirit teach you to pray again.
Let the Spirit restore your awe and renew your joy.
Let the Spirit send you as a witness.

God has entrusted us with the Gospel, filled us with His Spirit, and placed people in our care. May we be a church that lives Pentecost, not just remembers it.

Because of your generosity, we’ve already raised $12,500 toward our $30,000 Make Room Campaign.

As many of you have seen, God is bringing people. We’ve had Sundays pushing past our current capacity, and it’s clear - we need to make room for what He is doing next.

This campaign will help us complete our basement renovation and expand our worship space so we can:
• Create room for more people to encounter Jesus• Serve more children and families• Strengthen our compassionate outreach in our community

Would you pray about your part in helping us reach the remaining goal? Every gift matters. Every step brings us closer to making room for one more life.

Thank you for being a church that embodies love, embraces community, and creates space for people to encounter Jesus.

Let’s keep making room-together.

On Sunday, we presented Gene and Elaine Wengerd with a Second Mile Award in recognition of their 10+ years of faithful service to Aiken Ebenezer Nazarene.

Jesus taught His followers not simply to do the minimum, but to live with a spirit of generosity, faithfulness, and sacrificial love. And Colossians 3:24 reminds us that, ultimately, “it is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

Gene and Elaine began attending AEN in 2015, and over these past 11 years, they have not simply attended - they have invested. They have served in various roles throughout the life of the church, including as board members, youth leaders, worship leaders, and in many other ways.

They have helped lead us in worship, but more than that, they have modeled worship through their lives. They have given their time, their gifts, their energy, their hearts, and their faithfulness to this church family. They have served when it was easy… and when it was not.

Gene and Elaine have shown up consistently, loved deeply, encouraged others, and helped carry the mission of Aiken Ebenezer Nazarene forward.

Yesterday we celebrated Pentecost Sunday and closed our Becoming Christlike Disciples series with the message, “Message Received,” from Acts 1:4–8.

Before Jesus sent His disciples out as witnesses, He told them to wait for the promised gift of the Holy Spirit. Pentecost reminds us that we are not called to live the Christian life in our own strength. The Spirit fills us, forms us, and sends us.

The Holy Spirit does not come to bless our preferences or baptize what we have built in our own image. The Spirit comes to make us more like Jesus... more loving, humble, courageous, compassionate, patient, and faithful.

And what a beautiful response as we celebrated three baptisms as a visible declaration that the message of Jesus has been received.
