Wesley's message for today, June 7, 2026, taken from Isaiah 41:10 "God Has A Deal for Us!"
God wants to:
· Take our anxiety and bring us assurance.
· Move us from fear to faith.
· Exchange His peace for our pain.
God wants desperately for us to be blessed.
Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
God has a deal for us!
I. God wants to trade His fellowship for our fears – “Fear thou not, for I am with thee.”
Fear is in the lives of all of us. It doesn't have to be.
Let's look at the four basic fears:
1) Fear of death – Nobody really wants to die, but we all will.
2) Fear of failure – Every one of us wants success in our lives.
3) Fear of losing security – We all want that safety net beneath us.
4) Fear of the future – Life’s greatest uncertainty, what does tomorrow hold? Will I have a tomorrow?
God answers all these fears in His precious Word:
1) Fear of death – Philippians 1:21: For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
That's a great attitude from Paul. I live to love, to worship and to serve the Lord. To die is to live with Him and be like Him forever. Death leadeth unto light and eternity with the Lord.
2) Fear of failure – Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
God will never call you to do something and not provide what you need to get it done. What He commands, He will enable you to do.
3) Fear of losing security – Philippians 4:19: But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
The Philippians were people who were faithful and devoted, giving all they had for Jesus, they would have security. They would receive the true measure of God's blessings.
4) Fear of the future – Matthew 28:18 – 20: 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
God gave Jesus all authority as the head of all creation. We follow His direction and discipleship when we are, “Teaching and baptizing, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.” We will not go alone or unaided. Jesus will be our constant companion.
Hebrews 13:5: Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
You have Jesus, what else do you need?
Jesus will not leave or forsake His own.
God wants to trade His fellowship for our fears.
II. God wants to trade His comfort for our confusion – “Be not dismayed for I am thy God.
1) Dismay: Why did this happen to me? Don’t be shocked by anything that happens in this world.
2) Confusion: Can’t understand why we are tested and tried. God owns us as His own, in the good times and in tough times. Whatever our situation, we belong to Him.
1 Corinthians 14:33: For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
If pandemonium and disorder are present, the Spirit of God is not present.
If chaos and confusion describes your life, God is not your leader. Your priorities are not where they need to be.
God wants to trade His comfort for our confusion.
III. God wants to trade His strength for our weakness – “I will strengthen thee.”
So many reasons for feeling weak:
1) Sickness - many times we struggle with our health.
2) Think how many times we fail.
3) Think about our conflicts with our nature.
Consider God's strength.
Isaiah 40:28 – 29: 28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
God wants to trade His strength for our weakness.
IV. God wants to trade His help for our helplessness – “I will help thee.”
Sometimes we don't want His help, we want to do it alone.
Sometimes all we can do is cry out for help.
Reach out to Jesus, He's reaching out to you.
God wants to trade His help for our helplessness.
V. God wants to trade His righteousness for our rags – Isaiah 64:6: “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.”
We confess to personal uncleanness and admit that our best deeds are like filthy rags.
On our best day every one of us is undone.
Jesus has made righteousness available to all through faith in Him. He took our sins upon Himself on the cross.
2 Corinthians 5:21: For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Being right with God is found in the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no other way to get right with God.
In Jesus we have the right hand of righteousness.
Hebrews 10:12: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God.
Christ is the Son at God's right hand. Unlike the work of the Levitical priests, which was never done, Christ’s work was completed. His one sacrifice atoned for all sin, making any further sacrifice unnecessary.
Hebrews 7:25: Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
Jesus is the perfect high Priest forever. His people will never be without a priestly representative. He is our mediator and He is our advocate before the Father.
God wants to trade His righteousness for our rags.
Do you have problems?
Trade them for God solutions. Jesus Christ is sufficient for all your needs.
He can change:
• Anxiety to assurance.
• Fear to faith.
• Pain into peace.
God has a deal for us – He wants to bless us beyond measure.
