Tomorrow is the Day of Pentecost. It is a major Christian holiday that celebrates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles and early followers of Jesus Christ. Occurring 50 days after Easter, it is widely considered the "birthday of the Christian church."

Join us tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. at 183 Fork Bixby Road, Advance North Carolina as we celebrate.

There will be red cake and refreshments after the service in the parish hall. All are welcome.

Thank you to the young people that were able to help replace a rose bush and two boxwoods in a memorial area this past Saturday. The last photo is of the mature rose in bloom.

The wife has been very supportive of the entire youth group, and this was their way of saying "thank you" to her.

This Post from Second Harvest is about ways that individuals can help to continue feeding school children after the school year has ended.

You can help us Keep the Lunch Bell Ringing! Now through July 31 your gift will be matched $1 for $1 by our Lunch Bell Match Partners.

During the school year, the lunch bell provides something many families count on—consistency. For children who rely on school meals, it’s not just a break in the day—it’s reassurance that food is coming.

When summer arrives, that structure shifts. School doors close. Schedules change. For many families, access to regular, nutritious meals becomes increasingly difficult.

That’s why this summer, we’re asking our community to keep the lunch bell ringing—in impactful ways that ensure children and families have the food they need.

OUR DAILY BREAD FOOD PANTRY has the best volunteers. Many of our volunteers gathered this morning for breakfast at Olive Tree Restaurant. Everyone had a great time talking and being together, plus we had a great meal. We especially thank our busy teenagers that make time to volunteer when there are many other things they could be doing.
Thank you volunteers! ! ! We are thankful for you.

What a wonderful service today at Church of the Ascension in Fork. Great sermon by the Reverend George Sherrill, and our dedicated acolytes always make the service even more meaningful.

In the Episcopal Church, today was known as Good Shepherd Sunday. Our reader today of the biblical lessons was Karen Deadman, who did a great job. Our Bryan Eagle was the always dedicated and loyal assistant doing whatever needed to be done.

Photos are of the acolytes about to receive communion, and just candid photos of the church and grounds.
