Happy Labor Day! Fall is approaching so it’s time to do some picking up and cutting back at the cemetery. Please pick up any pots and/or decorations you want to keep before the end of September. Thank you!

Well this one has bugged me for a few years, I finally got to it. There was a tree and some Irises and other crap that was pushing it over for years. Finally dug it all out. Low and behold there was another headstone there. Turns out Mr. George Dewey was a a Civil war vet. Never knew it was there. God bless him and may he rest in peace.

Well got some more trees removed, a dead lilac bush along with three old stumps lining cemetery street. Much thanks to Bill Elliott and Son's tree service for their continued support. That dead pine out front and another rotting tree in the old section are finally gone. A little tractor work left but coming along.

Fixed a few stones this past weekend. The row of 4 is down in section 18. Water and debree running downhill has been pushing the stones over. Needed a little straightening up. The others are a couple of random stones up on the hill.

Thank you to Daisy Troop 10137 from Mannsville! They helped put American Flags on veterans graves just before Memorial Day!

Well Memorial Day weekend is officially here. Hopefully we get at least some nice weather. Water has been turned on at the cemetery. My wife and I will be finishing up placing flags on veterans graves this morning. Many of you will be at the cemetery this weekend paying respects to your loved ones. Please keep in mind when placing flowers at the gravesite that mowers have to mow and w**d eaters got to w**d. Plastic flowers are discouraged but I understand a lot of people use them. Please put them in the white holders and place them as close to the stone as possible. Plastic flowers have a wire core that can easily get caught up in the w**d eater trimmer line and become dangerous. Same with skinny metal flowers or fencing. When time allows I will be working on fixing some leaning stones and fixing the foundations on a few of the bigger ones. Any questions don't ever be afraid to contact me. Everyone have a fun and safe weekend.
Thank You
Glenn Richter, President Adams Rural Cemetery

A little bit of road work with the help of my friends dump trailer. 2.6 ton of stone and a shovel = backache lol. Some before and after photos. Hard to follow I know. Just filling in a few low spots here and there.
