Trustee Position Available – Union Cemetery Association (Adams Center)

The Union Cemetery Association in Adams Center is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Trustee position for the remaining two years of a three-year term.

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be a plot owner at Union Cemetery or a family member of a plot owner

Must reside within 30 miles of the cemetery

Trustee Responsibilities Include:

Attending the annual meeting (held in late March or early April)

Participating in additional meetings as needed

Electing officers (President, Vice President, Treasurer/Secretary, Internal Auditor)

Reviewing and updating by-laws as necessary

Reviewing and updating cemetery rules and regulations

Reviewing and updating burial/cremation cost and fees

Approving improvements

Hiring contractors as needed

Assisting with the general oversight and care of the cemetery

The Union Cemetery will be holding its annual lot owner/trustee meeting Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at the Adams Village Office. If you are interested in serving or would like more information, please reach out via email to [email protected] prior to the meeting.

October 5, 2019 ceremony honoring Revolutionary Veterans buried in our cemetery

On October 5th there will be a ceremony for the unveiling of Revolutionary Plaques to be displayed in each of the following cemeteries. Honeyville Cemetery, Rt 177, Honeyville, Union Cemetery, Adams Center and Rural Cemetery, Rt.11, Adams, NY.
The 1st ceremony will be at the Honeyville Cemetery at 9:30AM, following will be ceremonies at Union & Rural Cemeteries, respectively.
After there will be refreshments at the American Legion, Adams, NY.
We are looking for any of the descendants of the Revolutionary soldiers buried in the cemeteries.
The public is welcome.

I have attached 2 photos of the list of names of veterans from Revolutionary War, War of 1812 & the Civil War that are buried in the Union Cemetery. In time, I hope to have a list of veterans from other wars.
