One might ask why is the Red River Meeting House and Cemetery Association so important. Let me explain: This is the group who years after years through volunteers oversee and maintain this sacred and historical place. It is through prayers, support, and volunteers that the Association can continue doing what it does. God has continued to appoint leadership over the years to lead this group and Richard Moore has faithfully led this group for the last 31 years. If you can, please come and be a part to support them.

Picture is from 1958/1959 when 1st replica was almost completed and the Association was having their annual meal/meeting. Thankful for the faithful leaders before us.

The annual Association meeting of the Red River Meeting House and Cemetery is this Sunday, September 13 starting with a potluck dinner on the grounds at 1:00 pm CST with a service to follow at 2:30 pm CST with music led by Curtis Mabry, formerly of Auburn but now of Bowling Green, Kentucky, a highly accomplished and versatile singer and instrumentalist and our speaker will be Geoff Baggett, of Cadiz, Kentucky, as he portrays a parson presenting an abridged version of Jonathan Edwards’ “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.” He is an avid living historian and Kentucky author. We look forward to these two men of God leading our service. A short business meeting of the Association will follow. Everyone is welcome to attend.

DID YOU KNOW: The upcoming Red River Meeting House and Cemetery Association meeting for Sunday, September 13 is open to anyone interested in the keeping and maintaining of the meeting house, the grounds, the history and, last but not least, keeping this site available for folks to be able to come, use and enjoy this beautiful and sacred place. This important area has continued to be in existence for over 200 years. Come and be a part and learn what helps to make this place continue to exist. We covet your prayers and your support. We would love to hear from you.

A clean up day on the grounds of the Red River Meeting House and Cemetery is set for this Saturday, August 22, 2026 starting at 9:00 am. Remember to bring gloves and any favorite tools to help with trimming bushes, trees, cleaning up the meeting house, restrooms, storage rooms, etc.
Please let us know if you plan on coming to help with clean up so we can make the necessary lunch preparations for those volunteering to work that day. We appreciate all those who pray, support RRMH through monetary and/or their time. Thank you.

Hope those who are near or passing through will come to Logan County Library to the showing of Ken Shaw’s documentary at 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 28. It is free and approximately 1 hour 15 minutes of informative and enlightening information. Come meet Ken and some of the folks who were interviewed for this documentary.
Ms. Evelyn Richardson who is 94 will be attending and she would absolutely love to talk to you in person about the importance of RRMH and it’s special part in the Second Great Awakening.
We hope you can come and get a spark of the fire that ignited a huge movement of God in this area and beyond over 225 years ago.

Also Ms. Evelyn Richardson to be in attendance. She was 1 of the 7 interviewed for this documentary and she definitely deserves our love and support at the young age of 94.
