Also on the church's summer list of improvements...a new V***r Shield system was installed last week for the fire suppression piping. This adds a chemical to the fire suppression piping that prevents corrosion and will limit additional leak development in the future. So glad for the upgrade!

MONDAY MINDFULNESS: We begin this week with more inspiration adapted from Jennifer Grant's book "Finding Calm in Nature: A Guide for Mindful Kids."

Sit up tall, extend your arms straight out in front of you, and slowly reach your hands forward as far as they can go. Feel that stretch in your back, shoulders, and upper arms?

Animals and other beings in nature stretch. Birds stretch their wings wide as they fly. Dogs and cats stretch their bodies to keep their muscles healthy and to show how they’re feeling.

People sometimes use the word “stretch” to mean that something is hard for us.
What has stretched you?

Think of a time when you’ve felt like you’ve “stretched your wings” and soared like an eagle. How did that feel? Know that like an eagle, you will find lots of chances to rise up and soar.

Slow your breathing. Continue to stretch your arms as before. Then stand up if you like and slowly bend to touch your toes. Breathe in and out slowly. Then repeat a simple saying of comfort, such as “God is with me” or “my feelings matter.”

Air-conditioning is underway. Classrooms are almost ready to turn on - then it's on to the sanctuary. Thank you to everyone who generously participated in the Legacy Campaign and are making this huge endeavor possible. You'll also notice two new accessible entrances being added to our sidewalks!
