Sorting Out Conflict
23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A
Gospel: Matthew 18:15-20

In the Gospel reading from Sunday, Jesus says to his disciples and followers: "If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone." Go to that individual directly and talk with him or her out of love and humility, Father Tony emphasized. Father went on to remind us to avoid gossip, those side conversations we sometimes have with everyone else except the person with whom we have a conflict.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT RE: TUESDAY MASS & ADORATION

Starting one week from today on Sept. 15, our Tuesday Mass and Eucharistic Adoration schedule will permanently change to 5:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m., respectively. The new Mass and adoration times correspond with elementary and middle school faith formation start times on Tuesdays, broadening the opportunity for parents bringing their children to faith formation classes to attend Mass and adoration that evening.

Eucharistic Adoration at 6:15 p.m. will take place in the Eucharistic Chapel instead of the Sanctuary and will be available until 7:00 p.m. At 7:15 p.m., Millions of Monicas will meet in the Eucharistic Chapel, as has been their regular Tuesday practice. All women are invited to join them there on Tuesdays. Learn more here: https://strobertchurch.org/ministry/millions-of-monicas/. Individuals present for adoration who wish to continue praying after 7:00 p.m. will be asked to move into the Sanctuary.

The daily Mass and adoration schedule on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at St. Robert will remain the same. View schedule details on our website https://strobertchurch.org/mass-times/.

If you have any questions, please contact the parish office at (616) 676-9111 or [email protected].

This past week, our catechists gathered for orientation as we prepare for the 2026-27 Faith Formation year. We are blessed with a team that is excited about the faith and ready to help form the next generation of saints by helping to lead our children closer to Christ.

Beginning today, Sept. 7, our catechists and Faith Formation team will pray a novena for the year ahead. Each classroom will also be entrusted to the intercession of both a male and female patron saint: a reminder that we do not do this work alone, but are surrounded by the communion of saints.

Please pray for our catechists, our children, and their families as we begin this new year. May the Holy Spirit guide every lesson, conversation, and encounter, and may everything we do have one purpose: to lead souls to Jesus Christ.

Faith formation classes for Kindergarten through 8th grade students begin Sept. 15/16 and High School youth group begins Sunday, Oct. 4. To learn more and register your child(ren), visit https://strobertchurch.org/faith-formation/registration/.

Happy Labor Day!

On this day, let us give thanks to God for the gift of work, the dignity of human labor, and the many ways we serve our families, our communities, and one another.

We invite you to join us for Mass at St. Robert at 9:00 a.m.

May this Labor Day be a blessed opportunity for our families to rest, reconnect, enjoy each other’s company, and give thanks for God’s many blessings.

St. Joseph the Worker, pray for us!

Please note that the church and school offices are closed today in observance of the holiday.
