Gods Time Today 8/25/26
Can’t have your cake and eat it too
I can still remember and enjoyed my grandkids first birthday parties. It’s fun to watch a one year old tear into a cake for the very first time. Some tear in to it without hesitation and make a mess out of the cake and themselves and others were hesitant and just sat there and stare at it, like what am I supposed to do with this. As life goes on they learned the value of cake and only eat one piece at a time and sharing that cake with others.
Life is that way. It’s a gift from God that some tear into without hesitation, absolutely no regard for what had been placed in front of them or how big a mess they make. Others sit back and look at it wondering what do you want me to do and they do nothing. They don’t taste it, they don’t enjoy it, they don’t share it..
Jesus tells us a truth with a very deep meaning in Matthew 6. You have to make a choice because you can’t do both. No man can serve two masters. You can’t keep the cake and enjoy the taste cake. It’s a choice. In life you can destroy it without hesitation, making a huge mess of life and wasting what God has given or you can try to preserve what God has given you and never enjoy any of it OR you can do with life what God really intends for you to do. Trust Him to give you Life, Slice by Slice. Not wanting the whole cake today. Enjoying each piece daily, sharing a piece of life with others.
It’s a bad deal to mess up the cake (Life) and run out of cake before the party is over. It would also be a bad deal to never enjoy any of the cake. Today I encourage you to live life, love life and Trust God in the process. Life is not intended to be wasted or preserved. It is made to be lived one moment at a time. Trust your life to the master that knows how to give you breath, clothing and health. In Jesus name I pray, Amen
Matthew 624 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
