Do It with Passion

Nike made a lot of money with the slogan “Just Do It”. It’s a good phrase. The truth is that we are all going to do something. Even the Bible say to “Do It Heartily”, With your heart, With passion, With Reverence to God.

I guess a good question is what is “It”? The Bible speaks to that as well. Whatever your do, Do it Heartily, as you would do it the same as you would do it, if you were doing it to God.

That thought in itself might keep is from doing some things. We might not do some things we do to people if treated them with the same respect that we give to God. Oh be careful little mouths what you say, Oh be careful little hands what you do.

That same thought might also make you a better friend or even a better employee or employer. If you do your job like God was your boss!! Surely we would do or jobs to the best of our abilities if We were working for Jesus. God gave His best for us. He gave Him Heartily.

Father, Thank you for Jesus, Help me be more like Jesus, Help me be more Like You. Help me do my best because the reward for all I do comes from You. Help my light to shine bright for You. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen

Colossians 3:22-24
22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

Luke 6:31
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Are You Able

Shortly before His death Two of Jesus disciples came to Him with their mothers and asked for the Highest Position’s in Christs Kingdom. Jesus asked them “Are Ye Able” to drink the cup (death on the cross) and be baptized with the baptism (Submersed into the grave) that I am about to be baptized with. Jesus said You don’t know not what you ask and they couldn’t comprehend what he said or the suffering it would entail.

One of the most haunting questions is why God would allow suffering in this world. Over the years I have wrestled with the fact that God allowed His son to suffer the rejection and cruelty of the life he lived and The Cross. To help grasp the answer we need to know what and why Jesus came to earth to do. Seek and Save the Lost.

Today we have things like Amber Alerts and Silver Alerts that help us find those in danger and in need. I have been on a few man hunts for people who were lost and some that ran away. On those hunts there was no terrain too rough, no hours too late, no distance too far. I’ve been in places, done things, exhausted myself, and injured myself to find the lost. Why? Because inside us humans is the ability to sacrifice (suffer, allow) ourselves for the good of others, mankind and the Greater good.

The same is true with Jesus and the Father. They cared enough about You and the World to go the distance from Heaven to earth. Jesus took the rough path of walking the hills and valleys between Jerusalem and Nazareth looking for, finding, loving and redeeming those that were lost. His disregard for His life proves He loves us. He sacrificed Himself for the Good of all mankind, to save the world.

He has called us to join him in His work. Sometimes that work is what some call suffering and sacrifice. To love someone else’s soul more than you love your life here on earth is to Love and Live like Jesus.

Communion with the Lord is not to eat a little dry tasteless bread and drink some juice or wine. It’s to sacrifice, to suffer, to value souls more than our own lives like Jesus did in order to be more like him. To go the distance, endure whatever it takes to win their souls. Heaven is a lot longer and matter more than this life here on earth.

Father, help me see and love souls like You See and Love souls. Allow me to be Baptized into Your will for my life, Your kingdom come, Your will be done. In Jesus name I pray Amen.

Revelations 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Matthew 3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

Can’t have your cake and eat it too

I can still remember and enjoyed my grandkids first birthday parties. It’s fun to watch a one year old tear into a cake for the very first time. Some tear in to it without hesitation and make a mess out of the cake and themselves and others were hesitant and just sat there and stare at it, like what am I supposed to do with this. As life goes on they learned the value of cake and only eat one piece at a time and sharing that cake with others.

Life is that way. It’s a gift from God that some tear into without hesitation, absolutely no regard for what had been placed in front of them or how big a mess they make. Others sit back and look at it wondering what do you want me to do and they do nothing. They don’t taste it, they don’t enjoy it, they don’t share it..

Jesus tells us a truth with a very deep meaning in Matthew 6. You have to make a choice because you can’t do both. No man can serve two masters. You can’t keep the cake and enjoy the taste cake. It’s a choice. In life you can destroy it without hesitation, making a huge mess of life and wasting what God has given or you can try to preserve what God has given you and never enjoy any of it OR you can do with life what God really intends for you to do. Trust Him to give you Life, Slice by Slice. Not wanting the whole cake today. Enjoying each piece daily, sharing a piece of life with others.

It’s a bad deal to mess up the cake (Life) and run out of cake before the party is over. It would also be a bad deal to never enjoy any of the cake. Today I encourage you to live life, love life and Trust God in the process. Life is not intended to be wasted or preserved. It is made to be lived one moment at a time. Trust your life to the master that knows how to give you breath, clothing and health. In Jesus name I pray, Amen

Matthew 624 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
