This church is such an encouragement because Christ did not rebuke them for compromise or corruption. They had “a little strength,” but they kept His Word, did not deny His name, and stayed faithful.

We’ll be in Revelation 3:7–8 (KJV) for Part 1 — The Ruler Revealed, looking at the holiness, truth, power, and provision of Christ.

Christ closes His message to Sardis with some wonderful promises for the overcomer. We will look at the white raiment, the written name, the witness before the Father, and the warning to hear what the Spirit says unto the churches.

Sardis reminds us that faithfulness may not always be noticed by men, but it is never overlooked by Christ. His approval, His promises, and His reward are worth remaining faithful for.

📖 Revelation 3:3–4 (KJV)

Christ’s message to Sardis is a strong reminder that even when a church has grown cold, God still calls His people to remember, hold fast, repent, and remain faithful. We will look at the truth they were told to remember, the teaching they were commanded to retain, the turning that repentance requires, and the testimony of those who stayed clean.

In a day when it is easy to become comfortable, careless, or even calloused to spiritual things, this passage reminds us that God still desires a people who will hear His Word and respond to it.

We would love to have you join us tomorrow morning at Iron Hill Baptist Church!

Life can get heavy. Circumstances can change, burdens can come, and sometimes it seems like everything is working against us. But in Acts 26, Paul stood as a prisoner before King Agrippa and made an incredible statement:

“I think myself happy.” — Acts 26:2

Tomorrow morning, we will look at how Paul could have joy even when his circumstances gave him every reason to be discouraged. We will be preaching on:

Come be reminded that our happiness does not have to depend on what is happening around us. When we think about the salvation God has given us, the care God provides, the calling God has placed on our lives, and the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, we still have plenty of reasons to rejoice!

Join us tonight at 6:30 PM at Iron Hill Baptist Church in Acworth, Georgia, as we continue our Wednesday Night Bible Study through The Seven Churches of Revelation.

Tonight we begin our study of The Church at Sardis from Revelation 3:1–6 (KJV) — a church that had a name and reputation for being alive, but Christ said, “thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.”

We will see how easy it is for a church to have activity without power, reputation without reality, and religion without true spiritual life. But we will also see Christ’s call to wake up, strengthen what remains, remember the truth, hold fast, and repent.
