When will you allow me to see?
God where are you choosing to lead
Where do you want me to plant a seed?
God who are you asking me to touch
How do I come through in the clutch?
God please come take my hand
Will you steady me so I can stand?
God let you be see through
Who is seen in all I do
God I come to you and commit
What do I need to do to submit?
God as I try to follow, I do struggle
How do I give you everything I juggle?

Will you call Him God

Will you call Him God, and let Him in
Or are you still embracing your sin
Will you call Him Father and let Him care
Or do you still refuse to go and share
Will you call Him Savior and draw Him near
Or do you rely on self and cower in fear
Will you call Him Emmanuel and trust Him to be present
Or do you turn away wallow and lament
Will you call Him Yahweh and let Him direct your ways
Or are you in control, and think you number your days

Why didn’t you share?
Why didn’t you care?
Why didn’t you show?
Why didn’t they know?
Why don’t they see?
Why aren’t they free?
Why do you get so hyper focused on you?
Why do you not focus on God seen through?
Will you release fears?
Will you cry tears?
Will you surrender plans?
Will you be fans?
Will you cheerfully give?
Will you generously live?
Will you give what is mine?
Will you encourage others to shine?

We want a God with benefits

We want a God with benefits
Not a king who is lord
We want to rely on our own wits
Not bowing under a sword
We want to be the ones who know
Not to be humbled to let His glory shine
We want to stand and be the star of the show
Not to be told we are only stewards of the divine
We want more than we deserve
Not to just accept what we are gifted
We want to be the ones who observe
Not understanding what it means to be sifted

Give me a heart to feel things that are beyond me

Save me from myself

Why do I hold on to tight?
Why do I choose to fight?
For that which I want to lay down
For that which doesn’t honor the crown
Why can I ignore and not choose to see?
Why can I not hold onto what makes me free?
Not understanding the pain I choose to hold
Not seeing how it always makes my heart cold
Why do I not cry out, please draw me near?
Why do I wallow in shame and choose fear?
Help me learn to lay down what I choose to carry
Help me stop digging up what I once did bury
Why will I hold onto that which I don’t want?
Why will I let my past, come back in and haunt?
Let me, let Christ save me from myself
Let me stop putting Jesus on the shelf

Dirty Rags

Dirty rags are all that I own
What do I truly bring to the throne?
My best is not good enough
The value of who I am is not in stuff
His desire is that I come and bow down
Surrendering my life and my will to His crown
To rise understanding I am His, and He is mine
Called to stand, called to go, and called to shine
No greater honor than to be part of His story
Understanding my life is His, for His glory
How do I lay everything at the altar and not take it back
Trusting Him, His ways and that He provides all that I lack
