Scripture often contains passages where God encourages the reader to lean in, take note, and listen. In the book of Joel, in the Old Testament, we see that very call from God right at the very beginning:

"Hear this, you elders; give ear all you inhabitants of the land." Joel 1:2a

This is God, through the prophet Joel, speaking to His people and saying, "Listen to this." When God tells us to listen, it's usually for two reasons:

1) Something incredibly important is about to be said.
2) We aren't listening, and He's trying to get our attention.

With that in mind, let's take a few minutes on Sunday to see what God says in the book of Joel, right after He says, "Listen to this." It might just be life changing!
