Providence Church Come. Commune. Commission. About Four Points Church
LOVE - God LOVES us. At Four Points everything begins with this great LOVE. It's why people get married.

We know this because He sent His son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for our sins and rebellion (John 3:16, Romans 5:8). When a person comes in contact with a love as great as this... they are forever transformed. Without it... we have no message or reason to exist. With it... we have a powerful force capable of melting the hardest heart. It is our desire to drench all that we do with a sincere LOVE fo

r God, and an honest and real LOVE for people who need to experience it. In the words of Jesus... "Love God, Love people" (Matthew 22:34-40). DEVOTION - Love always leads to DEVOTION. They love... so they commit their lives to one another. At Four Points we want to build mature Christians. DEVOTION helps us take the necessary steps to deepen our faith. Like the first church, we devote ourselves to the study of the Scripture, worshipping with other Christians as a unified church, preaching & teaching, and prayer. (Acts 2:42). It is our commitment that you never leave a service at Four Points without growing in your understanding and worship of Jesus so you can leave and serve Him more thoroughly. PASSION - Every mature organism is capable of reproducing itself. PASSION is what causes a mature Christian to live as a beacon of light in a dark world (Matthew 5:14-16). At Four Points we fully understand the mission that Christ gave to His church (Mark 16:15-16). We are the stewards of the greatest hope that mankind has ever known. We will not cower... and we cannot be silent (Acts 4:20). We gladly leverage our temporary lives for the eternal purposes of God (Philippians 1:21). LEGACY - Great men who build great organizations begin with the end in mind. Their legacy has a lasting impact on people whom they have never met nor known. At Four Points, it is our desire to so love God and others, devote ourselves to God, and live passionately for Him... that our children will be quickened to continue to carry the Gospel torch long after we are gone. May all future generations in our city, surrounding areas, and world, be impacted by Jesus through our efforts for Him.

“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” — John 15:5 (LSB)

Not less. Nothing.

Jesus does not present Himself as helpful—He presents Himself as necessary.

We tend to think we can manage most of life on our own, and only turn to Christ when we need help. But Jesus makes it clear, apart from Him we can do nothing.

Therefore we must abide in Him.

To abide is to remain in Him, staying rooted in His Word, dependent in prayer, and shaped by His truth in how you live.

So the question is not how much you are doing, but whether you are remaining in Christ

Abide in Christ daily! Spend time in His Word, remain in prayer, and order your life around Him, not just when you need help.

Not everyone finishes well.

Some, like Demas, start strong but drift when following Christ becomes costly. When suffering comes, their love for the present world pulls them away.

Others, like Crescens, remain faithful and steady, though largely unseen. Not known for his platform or recognition, but for being consistent in what God has given him.

And that’s the call. Not to be known, but to be faithful. Not just to start well, but to finish well.

Lord, make us like Paul, faithful to the end. And if no one else sees it, let us be like Crescens.

God’s presence is not measured by what we feel.

He does not come and go. He is constant—unchanging, faithful, and always at work.

There will be seasons where He feels near, and seasons where He feels distant. But His presence is not determined by our perception. It is grounded in who He is.

And often, in the moments we think He is doing the least, He is doing the most.

When God feels distant, don’t pull back—press in. Go to His Word, remain in prayer, and trust that He is at work even when you cannot see it.

“Yahweh is near to all who call upon Him…” — Psalm 145:18 (LSB)

Do you actually long to see Christ?

Not just believe in Him. Not just know about Him—but to be with Him, face to face.

And if that longing isn’t there, it’s worth asking why. What in your heart is competing with that desire?

Would heaven still be appealing to you if Jesus wasn’t there? If so, it may reveal that you know about Him—but don’t truly know Him.

Because for the one who knows Christ, He is the reward.

“In the future there is laid up for me the crown of
righteous Judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing..” — 2 Timothy 4:8 (LSB)

So the question isn’t just what you believe about eternity—it’s whether your heart longs for Him now.

Be encouraged by these three biblical truths!

“In the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.” — 2 Timothy 4:8 (LSB)

“Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.” — Romans 6:4 (LSB)

Baptism is not just a moment—it’s a declaration.

It is a picture of what God has already done. What was once true is no longer true. Sin no longer reigns. The old self is crucified, and a new life has begun. A new life that isn’t defined by who you were, but by what He has done.

Praise God for His faithfulness in calling His people to Himself.

The narrow road we are called to travel is not synonymous with the path of least resistance.
The Christian life isn’t a leisure pursuit—it’s a fight.

Paul’s charge in 2 Timothy 4 is clear: be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work, and fulfill your ministry.

This is what it means to fight the good fight.

It requires…
Focus—watching your life and doctrine with vigilance.
Fortitude—enduring hardship in the midst of real spiritual opposition.
Fulfillment—walking in what God has called you to do by His providence.
You finish—to be poured out and complete the race set before you.

Paul’s life was marked by this. Not ease, but faithfulness to the end.

For those who remain faithful, there is a promise. A crown of righteousness—not earned, but given to those who love His appearing.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7 (LSB)

These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world. ” — John 16:33 (LSB)

Jesus tells His disciples: you will have tribulation. Christians are not exempt from hardship; it is to be expected.

He also makes clear where peace is found—not in changing circumstances, but in Him, who has already overcome.

Peace is not found through the absence of hardship, but in the finished work of Christ.

So when trouble comes, the question is not why. The question is where you are looking.

Waiting is not wasted time.

God does not call us to wait while things are out of control - He calls us to wait because He is in control.

We are not waiting on circumstances to change.
We are waiting on the Lord who governs all things - perfectly and without error.

So we learn to wait…not with murmuring, but with submission.

“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him…” - Psalm 37:7 (LSB)

Paul writes: “All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable…that the man of God may be equipped, having been throughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16–17)

Scripture is not optional in the Christian life. It is how God trains His people.

The Spirit of God does not work apart from the Word of God. He works through it.

That is why Paul charges Timothy so seriously in 2 Timothy 4:1-2: "Preach the word.”

Not opinions or preferences. Only the Word.

Like a herald sent by a king, Timothy is not bringing his own message. He is delivering what has been given to him.

That is not a responsibility to be taken lightly. Paul reminds him that he will give an account before God.

The same is true for us. If we want to grow in godliness, we do not move past the Word—we remain in it.

We hear it. We understand it. We live in response to it.

Because the Word of God is sufficient and it is how God forms His people.
