We are making some changes this year! A lot of you should receive a text or email, but we are also going to post it on our page incase we miss anyone!

Dear Divine Swine Families,

First, thank you for being part of Divine Swine. Many of you have been with us for years, and your trust and loyalty are something we never take lightly. Because of that, we want to communicate clearly and early about an important change to how we will be selling our show pigs this year.

In past years, pigs were sold using a set-price, first-come, first-served system based on call-in slots. While that system worked when demand was smaller, it has become increasingly difficult to keep fair, transparent, and manageable as interest in our pigs has grown.

Here’s how it will work:

Each pen will have a bid sheet attached. Families will be able to walk through the barn, view the pigs, and write their name and bid on the pigs they are interested in. Bids will increase in $25 increments. If more than one family wants the same pig, they can simply place higher bids on that pig during the bidding window.

There are enough pigs available for everyone, so no one will be left without an opportunity — this format simply allows families to fairly decide who gets which pig when there is more than one buyer interested.

At the end of the timed bidding period, the highest bid on each pig will be the purchase price for that animal.

This system:

Eliminates the rush and stress of time slots

Keeps the process open, transparent, and fair

Gives families control over what they want to spend

Our goal has always been to match the right pig with the right kid, and this system lets families make those choices while keeping things organized and equitable for everyone.
