Our 2(B) class had a wonderful visit from Father Godfrey this week! He shared stories about what school was like for him growing up in Uganda, and our students were fascinated to learn about the differences between his childhood experience and their own.

Father Godfrey explained that when he was in 1st and 2nd grade, he had no books, no shoes, and no classroom. Instead, the students gathered under a tree for lessons and practiced writing in the dirt using sticks.

The children listened so carefully and asked thoughtful questions as they learned about life and education in another part of the world. It was such a meaningful experience for our students and a beautiful reminder to appreciate the opportunities we have each day.
