Huguenot Fellowship ...supporting the Reformation heritage in the French-speaking world For more details, please visit our website, http://huguenotfellowship.org/

The Huguenot Fellowship, headquartered near Philadelphia, supports the John Calvin Seminary in Aix-en-Provence through grants given on a regular basis. We are a fully tax-deductible organization, directed by a board of trustees dedicated to fostering this cause. We publish a quarterly newsletter and sponsor various events and conferences to introduce a largely North American constituency to the work of the Seminary in Aix.

This evening is the final conf'théo for this year at Faculté Jean Calvin. The subject is "What really happens when we take Communion?".

These eveings for theological reflection & discussion followed by a buffet dinner prepared by the students have had a huge success. May the Lord raise up vocations, & call many young people to study at FJC & serve His Church in France.

This week the students of Faculté Jean Calvin are organizing a time of discussion on the theme, 'Do you have a question to ask God?'
May the Lord open hearts to His sovereign care & love. Praise God for the Lord's work in the hearts of the students.

This year the Faculté Jean Calvin is hosting a series of 4 'Conf'théo' - an evening with a 45-minute lecture followed by a time of Q&A and a dinner buffet prepared by the seminary students.
The topic this evening was: "Are we responsible for our (poor) choices, even if they're entirely determined by God?" presented by Philosophy professor Maxime Kristanek. Over 130 people were present and enjoyed a rich evening of philosophical teaching & an American menu of burgers, fries & cupcakes.

Bonne Année! In France, it is a significant tradition to wish your family, friends (and neighbors you may barely know, as you pass them on the street!) a Happy New Year. It's an opportunity to make a phone call to catch up, write a note, or make a connection with someone you don't speak with very often.
Whereas in the Anglo-Saxon world, Christmas cards are a significant tradition, the French use the calmer January schedule to extend their best wishes for a Happy New Year.
From the Huguenot Fellowship, Bonne et Heureuse Année 2026!
Qu'elle soit vécue dans la paix et la confiance, sous le regard bienveillant du Dieu qui s'est fait homme.

The Embers

Bent over the manger, a nova fire smiles,
Softly stoking the embers of one infant child—
One cold night born to rebind us, reweave our lives
In cosmic lines: Jesus our Brother, meek and mild.

Softly stoking the embers of one infant child,
The Fire he wields sets the world on a new path.
In cosmic lines, Jesus our Brother, meek and mild
Speaks to all to revive, renew, and bear the wrath.

The Fire he wields sets the world on a new path
And in its trail unite all for all in One who
Speaks to all to revive, renew, and bear the wrath:
He makes us whole in the beautiful, good, and true,

And in its trail unite all for all in One who
Bent over the manger. A nova fire smiles.
He makes us whole in the beautiful, good, and true:
One cold night born to rebind us, reweave our lives.

Each year the pastors of the Evangelical Reformed denomination (UNEPREF) have a retreat for professional development, fellowship and encouragement. The vast majority of pastors in the denomination have studied at Faculté Jean Calvin. Would you pray with us for many more pastors to serve in churches across France?

Huguenot Fellowship Trustee Ruth Ann Leduc talks with Nicolas Fines who is in his final year of Master's studies at the Faculté Jean Calvin in Aix-en-Provence, France. Coming from a family of pastors, what a blessing to hear about Nicolas' own spiritual journey and his "embracing his heritage", leading him to pursue theological studies.

To view the interview click https://www.huguenotfellowship.org/blog

Nicolas highlights three prayer requests:

- Patience - A calling to ministry comes with such passion and a desire to move forward in the Lord's work. Students in theology need patience to fully benefit from this time of study and all that the Lord wants to teach them.

- French denomination UNEPREF https://www.unepref.com/ - The majority of pastors in the Evangelical Reformed denomination did their pastoral training at Faculté Jean Calvin. Pray for revitalization of the French church, encouragement for its pastors and wisdom for its leaders.

- Healthy balance for pastors in their marriages and family life. Juggling family needs and personal life with the demands of ministry is always a challenge.

Would you please join us at the Huguenot Fellowship in supporting Faculté Jean Calvin and students like Nicolas? May the Lord raise up many more Nicolas to advance the work of His Kingdom in France.
