We had a surprise visitor last Sunday. Jonathan Charley and family stopped by to celebrate Mother’s Day with his mother and with his hometown church family. Jonathan is now the minister of the Northside Church of Christ in Charlotte, NC. He blessed us with a powerful sermon directed towards our mothers, but you know we couldn’t have him in our presence without him singing 🎤. We hope the words of this song are an encouragement to you as you begin your week ✝️

We had an AMAZING yesterday 🧠. We were blessed by our three presenters to learn about how to heal, recognize but not dwell on and overcome from negative family interactions - specifically with parents, in order to be who God has called us to be. We were reminded that healing comes from within ❤️‍🩹; it’s up to us to put in work to be bigger than what we’ve been through ↗️🙌🏾.

Our building and grounds ministry 🛠️🧰 has invited us all to participate in a “Spring Cleaning Day” 🧹🧼. God has blessed us to be able to have our own building to worship in and it is each of our responsibility to make His house one that is neat, tidy and respectable. We hope to see you there! 😄

Most of the time when things don’t go our way, it’s everyone else’s fault . Better said, we BELIEVE 🤔 that it’s everyone else’s fault. In a sermon preached to us a few weeks ago, it was shared that we need to take responsibility over our lives and be accountable for our choices 💯. Yes God is in control over all things, but we still have free will and the ability to do - or not do - what it is that the Lord expects of us. This quote shows us that we need to take our power back and do what we know is right so we can live the lives God has called us to 🙌🏾.

On Saturday, March 14th 🗓️ we will be co-hosting a workshop with Talitha Koum Psychiatry - a mental health care practice founded by one of our members - that is focused on how we can be our best selves in spite of the trauma and dis-function that we might’ve experienced growing up at home. Yesterday was the first night of our as we continue in our 15th anniversary celebration. 👏🏾🙌🏾🎉

Bro. Bethea (East Baltimore COC in Baltimore,MD) was a blessing to us over the weekend and he brought the same fire and devotion within him that he is known for last night. He taught us about church leadership and delivered a great lesson from the Word of God 🗣️📖

We will be streaming each night this week, however, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you attend in-person! ⛪️🛐 The warmth of the singing and the energy of the lesson cannot be fully comprehended in the virtual space.

We begin at 7:00pm each night until our banquet scheduled for Friday. Looking forward to seeing you this week! 😁👋🏾

The theme for our VBS last week was “Turnabout Pointe” 🪃. We sang 🎤, laughed 😂, danced 💃🏾🕺🏾, ate 🍽️, and most importantly … We gave God glory, honor and praise 🙌🏾✝️.

Next year will be just as fun and we look forward to you being there - if you weren’t this year 💯

We also had our annual church picnic last Saturday 🧺. Members of all ages were present 👶🏾👨🏽👩🏿👵🏾. Whether you were kid on the swings or jumping in the bouncy house or one of our seniors who were enjoying the music and sitting in the shade. There were plenty of things for you to enjoy.

will be August 3rd to the 7th and our annual picnic will be on August 8th. We look forward to seeing you
