Dear Christian,
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us of all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
Please realize, that you are at the closest point to receiving God’s grace, mercy, and forgiveness when you begin to realize you can’t do anything right.
You have been declared righteous once and for all.
God didn’t save you because he saw something lovely in you. He saved you because He is LOVE.
Your redeemer is bigger than your past.
I often talk to Christians who simply can’t move forward. They’re haunted by their past and the condemnation is so overwhelming they can’t sleep at night or function during the day.
To that person who says, “I’ve asked God to forgive me, but I still feel guilty and condemned” what do I do?
RC Sproul, responded to that question and said, “Listen; if you still feel condemned, then pray to God again. But this time don’t ask Him to forgive you for the sin that is haunting you. Rather, ask Him to forgive you for insulting His integrity by refusing to accept His forgiveness. You see, when God promises to forgive His people when they repent, He is not playing games.”
If He says He will forgive you, then He will forgive you. And if God forgives you, you are forgiven. “He whom the Son has set free is free indeed.”
Listen carefully, if you want to get past your “past” then you must trust your past to Him who dwells outside of time. He amazingly is able to make that ugly thing you did work together for good. He specializes in giving beauty for ashes.
He ONLY does miraculous things.
He ONLY does wondrous works.
God does not want to remove your memories; he wants to redeem them.
God does not desire to give you amnesia, so you forget your past,
but rather a renewed mind with the faith to hear Him triumphantly proclaim,
‘Neither do I condemn you, my friend.’
And since I already punished Christ for your sins, I will NEVER punish you!
So, you have a past. I get it. That’s what Christianity is all about.
God wants to blot out your sin, not your mind.
He doesn't want to erase your memory, but rather erase your record.
Remember, your Redeemer is bigger than your past.
God may forgive your past, but He doesn't waste it.
God isn’t done with you.
"God doesn’t want us to punish ourselves to erase our guilt. He punished his Son to cancel our guilt. God will not build His kingdom on our pain because He is building it on His mercy. " Bryan Chapell
The reason I know God isn’t done with you is because you’re still alive.
When God is done with you, you’ll know it.
Until then, run your race with endurance looking to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith.
AMEN and AMEN!
