Church of the Lost

Church of the Lost A church for the lost and outcast. While we aren't your typical church since we are starting here on Facebook, we are followers of the bible.

We are here to help those that feel that they are lost in their faith or don't feel at home in a regular conventional church. We believe that church shouldn't be about who you are, what you've done, or the things you choose to do with your life. We welcome all that want to hear or spread the word of God. We want to help people find their way to the Lord or back to him depending on the persons circ

umstances. We don't follow many of the rules of the normal church. We welcome free thought and discussion among our members. We want our church to be friendly to everyone and especially to those that feel they have no congregation they can turn to in times of need. And we believe that everyone should have a say on what is discussed through out the week not just on sermon days.

The truth…. The truth is rarely without pain. Whether it’s the truth we hide from ourselves or the truth that we keep hidden from others. The truth almost always has a sting to it. Not because it’s meant to harm and hurt, but because it’s usually something that we don’t want to face.

We keep truths from ourselves to protect ourselves from things we don’t want to have to face. But the reality is that those are the things we most often need to face and find our way to healing or moving forward past them.

The problem for many is that the world around us presents so many opportunities to avoid those truths. Whether it be something simple like social media (doom scrolling through Facebook and tiktok lol) or something more serious as alcohol and drugs. All these things and so many more allow us to escape the reality of our lives and push away the things we should be dealing with.

The Bible has many verses on truth and deceipt. About how we should not decieve ourselves or those around us. Such as,

Deuteronomy 11:16
Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them,
This verse in particular seems fitting for the world we currently live in. In our world our hearts are turned towards things such as I mentioned earlier. And I’m doing so while it may not seem like it we are worshipping those things instead of God.

And I can already hear all the negative feedback back that will get, so allow me to explain. All of us, I mean you are on social media right now, give up a portion of our day to scroll the feeds. Many of us have daily habits that let us escape our reality at least for a little while. And all these things help us hide from the things that we don’t want to face.

And maybe not at first, but over time we si k deeper and deeper into these things. They become a necessity to keep things hidden from ourselves. We can watch all the cute and fun things instead of dealing with whatever it is that we don’t want to.

Now I’m not saying that sometimes we don’t need that little moment of escape. But it shouldn’t keep us from facing the truths of our lives.

If we spend all our time hiding from those truths can we really know ourselves? Can we live up to our full potential if we refuse to face the hard parts of ourselves? Can you truly say you worship with all that you are if you keep parts hidden from yourself?

And I know I am not without my own hidden truths. And I’m working towards moving through them. And through that work I find that Ive never really been all of me because parts of me were hidden in the dark. But with Gods strength to support me I’m slowly making myself complete.

I hope this message finds those that need it. And that it makes you think on what you may be keeping buried within. Feel free to comment and share to those that you think may need this. I hope it helps.

With kindness, faith, and love we can make the world a better place. Be the change for the better in all you do.

Here recently me and a friend were discussing God’s plan for us and free will. An interesting debate with plenty of different views on it I’m sure.

My friend is of the belief the God knows our thoughts and choices and this every step is already known. But I’m of the belief that God has a plan for where he wants us to end up, but gives us the ability to choose if and how we get there.

In my mind it is like a map. There is an optimal route that will lead us where we are supposed to go. And that route is the one that, if you will, is the golden road. The path that is most direct and with the least resistance. But every choice we make can easily lead us down a different path. This one simple path becomes an infinite number of paths. So.e lead to dead ends and return us to somewhere we’ve already been. One step forward and three steps back.

Others lead to destinations that are no where near where we were supposed to end up. Lost in the struggles and traumas that these paths led us to perhaps. Or even questioning the foundations of our own faith. A million different possibilities that aren’t what was planned for us.

And others lead us through the turmoils, ups and downs of the maddening terrain of life, but still lead us to where God planned for us to be.

All of these possibilities and no real way of knowing where we are going. Of knowing if we are on the path God has for us. Because even the golden path comes with its own struggles and problems. Because on that path the devil is going to work even harder to turn our steps.

Theres no way of knowing God’s plan for us. That’s something only God knows. The best we can do is try and live by the examples given to us and the words left for us. Not an easy thing to do in a world such as ours but not impossible.

In the end it is up to us to choose the path we believe is right. And as humans it’s guaranteed that we are going to find ourselves making a mistake or twelve along the way. But if we keep going and try to find our way back then we will reach the goal that God has for us.

It’s our choices that lead us, it’s God’s plan that makes the map and roads we travel. God gave us free will and it is our job to use it to the best of our ability.

I hope this helps some who see it and would enjoy hearing others thoughts on it in the comments. I’ll do my best to be active with any comments.

With kindness, faith, and love we can make the world a better place. Be the change for the better in all you do.

So I've been told I should get back to this. Life has been a mess lately and I've put things aside for a while. But maybe they are correct and I should get back to doing this. It is something I enjoyed quite a bit. I won't say that there will be any regularity to it for now but i will try to do better.

If there is anything you would like to discuss let me know and we can look into it together. Hope all is well and we will see you soon

So I'm looking for new topics to discuss and look into. Would love any suggestions that any of you may have. So please let me know.

Life has been hectic and I've used it as an excuse to not be here as much as I should. But after today that changes. There's no good excuse that should keep me from being here and doing what I set out to do.
So I hope that all of you will forgive me for letting this page lapse into the background of life. And will be here as I attempt to be more present and regular with our messages.
My current goal is to interact with you all at least three times a week with at least one message of value and perhaps a short message or something that relates the other two times a week.
Can't guarantee that will happen within this week or the next because it takes time for me to process my messages to words sometimes. But I'll start working to get ahead of that curve over the next few weeks so it'll be more regular.
For today I want to just say thank you to all that still visit and hope some of you that haven't in a while find your way back. And to anyone who's never been here before I welcome you and look forward to hearing from you all.

Thank you and God bless.

Changes -

Change. One of the most difficult things in life that all of us will face so many times that we will lose count. The fear of change makes us hold back instead of walking forward towards what God has set in front of us.

We constantly try and keep things from changing, because we’ve become comfortable with the way thigs are. We don’t even have to be happy with the status quo, but we’ll still try and keep it.

But how can we grow in our faith or as people if we don’t allow for change. Yes Change can be hard and painful, but it also can be liberating and exciting. It makes us stronger.

Romans 5:3

NIV – Not only so, but we also glory in our suffering, because we know that suffering produces perseverance.

This particular verse points out that yes there is suffering in the change, but through the suffering we learn perseverance. And through perseverance we find our way into new things and new lives.

If we are willing to suffer through the changes then we will find ourselves in a brand new place, with a new outlook on the world and our lives. But first we have to suffer through the changes.

We have to allow the changes to make us anew and lead us along the path that brings us closer to God.

Ephesians 4:22

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires, to be made new in the attitude of your minds, and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness

With this verse we are shown how we are taught to give up our old lives and habits so that we can be made into an entirely new being. Its hard to give up on the things that have become a normal part of our lives. Habits that we’ve had for years that are so ingrained in us that we don’t even think about them anymore. But if we want to really change who and what we are then we have to go at it from every front.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

2 a time to be born and a time to die,

a time to plant and a time to uproot,

3 a time to kill and a time to heal

a time to tear down and a time to build

4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to e up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3 is a good run of verses. it straight out tells us that there is a time for everything in our lives. And that includes changes. There’s a time for us to let things go and find new things to hang on to. A time to fight for what we believe in and go to war. A time for love and for peace. All of these things are part of us all and part of change. All we have to do is embrace them and move forward instead of holding ourselves back.

So if your life is changing around you, then maybe its time to stop fighting the change and just see where it leads you. You might find yourself in a place where you are happier than you’ve ever been. And remember that even if it seems hard and difficult, that God never said it was going to be easy. Only that he would lead you through it all to where he wants you to be.
