REMINDER re PRO-LIFE ROSARY TODAY at ST. FRANCIS CATHOLIC CHURCH at 6:00PM ... and there WILL BE a BILINGUAL MASS TODAY at 6:30PM at ST. FRANCIS!!!

The CATHOLIC PRO-LIFE COMMITTEE of the Abilene Deanery WILL BE PRAYING the PRO-LIFE ROSARY TODAY (Tuesday, August 17, 2021) from 6:00PM to 6:30PM (one set of Mysteries!) at ST. FRANCIS CATHOLIC CHURCH (826 Cottonwood).

PLEASE NOTE: The wearing of FACE MASKS is ENCOURAGED, but NOT REQUIRED for the ROSARY and the MASS (and the Diocesan Guidelines for Proper SOCIAL DISTANCING will be FOLLOWED for the ROSARY and the MASS!).

Effective May 8, 2021, Bishop Sis will relax the current Covid restrictions.
1. Face masks no longer required, but are strongly encouraged.
2. Every pew may be used.
3. The social distance requirement is reduced to three feet.

The Solemnity of St. Joseph is observed on March 19. This year the solemnity falls on a Friday. According to canon 1251 of the Code of Canon Law, when a Friday occurs on a day listed as a solemnity, there is no requirement to abstain from eating meat on that day. Therefore, Catholics may eat meat on this Friday, March 19, 2021, and no special dispensation from the bishop is needed.
