“I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils and be flogged in the synagogues. On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.'' Matthew 10:16-20⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

What Jesus is saying here to his disciples is crystal clear: ‘Tell the world who I am!’ Moreover Jesus is very honest about how the response can be: people may oppose you in various ways, but you don’t have to fear! Love them anyway.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our Lord has given us a precious gift by giving His life for us on the Cross. We all deserved to die but He gave us eternal life and that’s not all. He died and rose again and gave us the Holy Spirit to always be with us and guide us. Later on Paul writes in one of his letters: ‘For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.’⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

May I ask you something? Did you receive that precious gift too? Yes??? Well then, do you long for them to also receive this precious gift, or do you find it difficult to share the gospel? Ask the Lord to fill your heart with love for people who do not know Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to bring someone on your path who needs to hear the Good News. He will guide you and give you the right words. You can rely on it because Jesus said so. Read again the above Scripture!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Prayer: ‘Lord, I love you. Thank you, that you have given me eternal life. I long to share that precious gift with … [maybe you already have someone in mind]. Thank you that your Holy Spirit will guide me. Amen⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
